Love's Witness Chapter 1

Chapter 1
Bo Buchanan got off a bus in Chicago, it had been a long ride from Texas, especially with the elderly bickering couple that had been on since Tennessee. He stretch his body and looked around the city.  He needs to find his hotel in the downtown area. He found the street and began looking. He found the hotel and walked in the lobby, sighing with relief from the heat and humidity.  He had come here for a convention. Photography and newspaper, it wasn’t his favorite thing in the world to do, but he was just started this job and felt the convention would do him good.  He got to his room it was nice.  He unpacked his stuff. He took a shower to get the stink of the bus off him. He wanted to go out and enjoy Chicago, see what he could find. His convention was right next to Northwestern University, he smiled at all the young college kids running toward the buildings trying to get to their classes on time.
He went into a nearby convenience store, no way was he paying for the vending machines in the hotel. As he walked he started to mill around.
“I am telling you Priscilla it isn’t him, now stop and let me find what I need.”
Bo turned towards the voice. His heart skipped a beat. She had long red hair, she was wearing a sundress, her legs were a mile long. She turned towards him, she was beautiful. She saw him looking at her, she raised an eyebrow.
“Can I help you?”
Bo felt himself get flustered at being caught.
“Um, sorry, just got off a long bus drive, I am still a bit out of it. Didn’t mean to stare.”
She smiled.
“That’s okay, it isn’t bad when a cute guy doing it.”
Bo felt his heart flutter as he smiled at her.
“Thanks, I hate to seem like a big creep. I am guessing you get guys staring at you all the time.”
He could see her blush. He decided to go for it.
“So umm, I am Bo Buchanan, the creep staring at you.”
She giggled.
“Nora Hanen, I am the one having such a good looking guy checking me out. So Bo? You just got off the bus? Where from?”
“Texas. I am here for a convention.”
“Oh, which one?”
“The Photography and Newspaper.”
“Oh, the one right next to the school, so you’ll be nearby all week?”
“Yes, I take it you a student.”
“Yes, I am a sophomore.”
“Oh, what you studying?”
“Pre-law.”
“Wow, impressive.”
“Top of my class, but my father is a judge, grew up around it.”
Bo laughed. Suddenly a short burnett came flying around.
“NORA! We have to go or we’ll be late.”
She sighed and looked at him.
“Gotta go Bo, nice to meet you.”
She put her hand out and Bo shook it. Bo felt a shock run through his body as their hands meet. She turned to leave.
“Wait! Nora, umm I just, I hope I see you again. I am staying at the Western, room 1022.”
She smiled.
“Good to know Mr. Buchanan.”
She left the store, Bo watched her leave with goofy grin on his face.
