Charade Chapter 6

Chapter 6
Nora woke slowly, she stretched feeling relaxed and rested, it had been a long time since she had felt that way. She reached beside her for Bo, it was empty. She opened her eyes, she saw him sitting on end of the bed dressing. She sat up and moved behind him, she put her arms around him and kissed his ear.
“Hey handsome where you going?”
Bo sighed and took her hand kissing it gently.
“Red, we have to pretend that this never happened.”
Nora instantly let go of him. He turned around and looked at her.
“Red I can’t be with you, I am engaged and having a baby with another woman.”
Nora bit her lip trying not to cry. Her voice cracked as she talked.
“Then what was this? What was last night? Not getting enough at home?”
“Don’t do that!”
“Bo you came here last night and you made the first move! Why?”
Bo’s face turned hard.
“Nora this is all your fault.”
“Mine?”
“YES! God Red, if you hadn’t of lied and cheated I would have never left you and I would have never rebounded with Lindsay.”
Bo shook his head.
“Oh, I see. So I made one horrible mistake, which eats me alive everyday by the way. I lost everything too Bo. You may have gone to that bitch to get back at me, but it’s been over a year now, why were you still with her? That is your problem and your fault Bo, not mine. You know what leave, go back to the woman you hate, marry her and raise your child in a loveless house.”
“Nora.”
“No, you told me this never happened, get out of my house. Just remember you will be haunted by this. You still love me Bo, don’t tell me you don’t think of me everytime she touches you, it going to be much worse now.”
Bo stood and began to leave. He stopped at the door.
“You maybe right Red, I have a lot of blame too. I love you so much Red, but I can’t leave my child.”
“Bo, we could raise that baby together. It would be hard, but we could.”
“No Red, Lindsay would make our lives hell.”
Nora laughed bitterly.
“She already does that Bo, she already does that.”
Bo looked at her tears in his eyes. Nora fought hers.
“Please leave Bo, if you aren’t going to leave her you need to leave now.”
Bo nodded and left. Nora waited till she heard the front door close before she let herself cry. Her heartbreaking even more than it had before, once again he left her.
