Chapter 7

The next week Nora’s case resumed. Neither had brought up the kiss, not that he didn’t play it over and over in his head, but with the case he needed to stay sharp and on the watch. Nora was focused on the case as well. He sat in the back of the courtroom and watched her do her stuff. She was an amazing lawyer and he understood why the Wilson’s were threatening her. Her case was very strong against the three men accused. Bo didn’t like the way the Dominic Wilson looked at Nora, it was very menacing. After the fourth day of deliberations Nora finished her case and court was adjourned for the weekend.

Bo came over to her as she was packing up.

“You are quite the lawyer Ms. Hanen.”
She smiled at him, still packing.

“Thank you Mr. Buchanan.”
She handed him one of her briefcases to carry as they started to leave.

“So I need to blow off some steam after that closing statement. You want to do a bar tonight?”
“Loved too, but you know I can’t drink with you.”
Nora nodded.

“Yes, but that is great, I have Designated Driver then.”
Bo laughed following her out.

That night Bo and Nora hit a few of the bars in Llanview. It was a lot of fun, even though he wasn’t drinking he was enjoying watching Nora lose her ambitions. He had a feeling it was a rare site.

“Buchanan, let’s dance.”
She put her hand out to him, he took it followed her out. Nora wrapped her arm around his neck pulling him close. Bo hands went to her hips, they danced with the rhythm. After several songs Nora leaned into his ear.

“Bo take me home.”
“You ok?”
“Yes, just feeling a bit tired.”
Bo nodded letting go of her hips. Nora grabbed his arm for guidance as they headed out. She was definitely more than tipsy. Bo put his arm around her waist to help her to the car, she leaned into his body. They got near the car, Bo put her against it and opened her door. Before he could put her in, Nora put her arms around him.

“Buchanan you are a very attractive man.”
Bo knew this was the alcohol talking.

“Thank you, I think are attractive too.”
She giggled then pulled him in for a kiss. Bo kissed her back, but then gently pushed back.

“Red we need to go home now.”
“Ok, I like that you call me that.”
Bo smiled and put her in the car. He got in on his side and looked at her, she had fallen asleep already. He put a hand out and ran it down her face, then put the car in drive.

Bo pulled up to the house, it was dark. He thought he had turned on a few lights. Maybe not. He turned towards Nora who was still out. He put a hand on her face.

“Red, honey wake up.”
Nora opened up her eyes slightly.

“We home?”
“Yeah, I am going to get out then help you out ok?”
“Ok.”
Bo went over and opened her door. She was asleep again. He sighed, he decided it just be easier to carry her. He picked her up and headed inside. The house was pitch black, but luckily he knew how to get to the couch without light. He gently laid her down and went to turn on the light. When he did it revealed three men dressed in black all pointing their guns at him. Bo put his hands up.

“What do you want?”
“Her of course, now get out of our way so we can take her.”
Bo started to move acting like he was going to let them have her. One put his gun away and approached Nora.

“John get over and help me carry her.”
The second guy put his gun away, this was what Bo was hoping for, he saw the third guy look at the other two, he took this distraction and hit the guy with gun against the threshold, he collapsed instantly. Bo pulled his gun out.

“Get away from her now.”
The other two seemed so shocked they just did what he told them. Nora was still asleep totally unaware of what was going on. Bo pulled his phone out and dialed the station.

Two minutes later the house was swarming with police. Nora woke she was totally confused.

“Bo?”
He went over to her as the officers took over.

“It’s ok Red. We got them.”
