The room was quiet when she opened her eyes. The pain hit her. The baby she was having the baby, Bo was there. She felt her flat stomach. She had no memory of actually having the baby, just the labor. She found the call button and pushed. A moment later the nurse came in.

“Mrs. Buchanan. It is so good to see you awake. There are more than a few people anxious to see you.”
“My baby?”
“He’s in the nursery, doing very well. Your husband did a good job taking care of you and him. I will get the doctor and then you can see him, okay?”
Nora nodded, she was into to much pain to really talk much. She laid back trying to relax. A minute later the doctor came in.

“Hello Nora. How’s the pain?”
“Bad.”
“I figured, you had a very traumatic labor. As you know the baby breached.”
She nodded.

“I don’t remember giving birth”
“Your husband said you passed out as he came out. You had lost a lot of blood. You’ve been out for nearly three days.”
“Three days?”
“Your body just needed time to heal. Your baby is fine. I’ll have nurse bring him in.. Also he’ll need a bottle with all the pain meds we are giving you.”
Nora nodded. He patted her arm and left. She closed her eyes, she felt so tired already, but she need to see her baby.”
The nurse came in with the baby. Nora put her arms out, then nurse gently placed him in Nora’s arms. Nora smiled, he was beautiful.

“I’ll leave you two alone.”
Nora nodded. She ran a hand down the baby’s face.

“Hello handsome. Oh look at you, you look just like your daddy.”

Nora felt the tears starting.

“I just hope when this all over you daddy will want me. So what about a name mister?”
The baby stretched.

“So you want a name? Okay. Well we had a few name picked out before I.” She took deep breath. “Your daddy wanted you to be a Caden, would like that?” He didn’t move.”I’ll take that as a yes.”
The nurse popped her head in.

“You two doing okay.”
“Yeah. Have you seen my husband?”
“Not since he brought you in. I think he got a emergency call from station.”
“Okay. Thank you.”
The nurse left. Nora kissed the baby.

“Oh kid, what have I done?”
