Chapter 4

Nora collapsed on her couch. In all the scenarios she played in her head, him not wanting the baby never ever entered her mind. He always wanted a family. She felt a sob escape, he must hate her more than she realized. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She knew this was all her fault. She was the one who cheated, she hurt him, can she really expect him to want this?

She jumped as her door flew up. She scramble looking for weapon to fight the intruder.

“What in the hell! You tell me we are having a baby and you leave!”
Nora held her chest as her heart slowed.

“You scared me!”
Bo stopped and realized what he had just done.
“Sorry, I was.. I was just wound up, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Nora sat back down taking a few deep breaths.

“But still, why in hell did you just leave?”
Nora looked at him incredulously.

“Did you hear what you said? You don’t want this baby! The thought of having me in your life even if its only be when I drop the baby off was too much for you.”
Bo looked shocked.

“That is not at all what I meant.”
Nora scoffed.

“Right. I don’t know what else ‘I don’t want this’ could mean.”

“It means..It..God NORA! I am still raw about finding out you slept with another man. I haven’t seen you in nearly month and I still feel like my heart is physically being ripped out of my chest. I meant, I don’t want this feeling. I LOVE YOU! You carrying my child should be the happiest moment of my life, instead it’s painful and scary.” Bo move over to her and put her face in his hands. “Nora I want this baby, it’s going to be so hard, but I am willing to whatever it takes to be part of this child’s life.”
Nora’s tears were streaming down her face.
“I am sorry Bo, I am so sorry.”
Bo put his forehead on hers.

“I know you are. I know what happened, happened out of fear. But it still hurts.”
“I love you.”
Bo pulled away slightly. Running a hand through her hair.

“I love you too Red, but I am not ready.”
Nora leaned in giving him a small kiss.

“I understand, but do you think someday you may be?”
Bo sighed as he caressed her face.

“Red, I want to try. I am not sure when I’ll be ready.”
Nora smiled through her tears.

“That is all I can ask for right now. Bo? Do you think we should put the divorce on hold?”
Bo kissed her gently.

“Yeah, I think that might be a good idea.”
Nora felt her heart soar, this is the most hope she felt since she stupidly cheated on him. Bo let her go and stood. He put his hands in his pockets and shook his head.

“So Red, we are going to be parents?”
“Yes we are, but we have plenty of time to figure all this out.”
Bo turned towards her she saw a little smile on his face and looked at her, his smile grew.

“We’re going to have a baby.”
Nora felt herself get happy just looking at the dreamy look on his face. She got up and walked up to him. He opened his arms, she walked right into them. They embraced each other, both finally taking time to enjoy the moment of realizing they were parents. Bo pulled her to him tight, she buried her face in the crook of his neck. Maybe just maybe they would make it.
