Chapter 5

Nora sat in the doctor’s office, Bo sitting next her. This is the first time since Nora told him about the pregnancy that they had seen each other. Nora knew she couldn’t push him, he’d come to her when he was ready. Today they were going to do an ultrasound, with her being older they wanted to take extra precautions.

“Nora Buchanan.”
Bo stood with her. They followed the nurse back. Her breathing stopped when she felt his hand touch her back and guide her.

The nurse put them in room and told Nora to change into the gown. Bo started to leave.

“Bo you can stay, it isn’t like you haven’t seen me naked.”
“I don’t know Nora.”
“Bo you can look the other way. I trust you.”
Nora saw him look at the ground as she undressed. She got on the table.

“I’m decent.”

Bo looked up at her.

“Well you look magnificat in the gown.”
“Flattery will get you everywhere Buchanan.”

Bo smiled at her. There was a knock and the doctor came in.

“Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan? You ready to see your baby?”
Both nodded.

The doctor got everything ready, Bo slowly got closer to her. The doctor started to move the wand on Nora’s abdomen.

“There we are.”
Bo was right next to her.

“I don’t see it.”
The doctor pointed at the screen.

“Right there Mr. Buchanan. Baby is really small right now, but there is the head.”
Bo took her hand. Nora looked over at him, his face was filled with wonder.

“Wow. Red, look at that. It’s our baby. Does everything look okay?”
The doctor smiled.

“Oh yes, I’d say my original timeline was right on. You’re around 9 weeks along.”

The doctor finished. Nora started to get redressed she looked over at him as she did. He looked very deep in thought. He looked up at her as she put her shirt on.

“Red, I think I’m ready to try.”
Nora heart stopped, she couldn’t have just heard that.

“Try what?”
He stood and walked over to her. He put her face in hands then kissed her very gently.

“I want you and I to become and us again.”

Nora’s breath caught.

“Are you sure? Bo this is going to be hard for both of us. I don’t want you to do this just because of the baby either.”
“Red, they baby just helped me see through the pain. I love you and I want to be with you.”
Bo kissed her.

“Where do we start?”
Bo shook his head.
“I don’t know. Probably counseling.” he kissed her again. “maybe I move back and stay in the guest room?”
Nora tears began to flow down her cheeks.

“I think that is a wonderful idea.”

Bo kissed her again.

“Then why don’t we go to my apartment and get my stuff and head back home, together.”
She felt like she was dreaming.

“That sounds so wonderful.”
Bo took her hands and led her out.
