Chapter 8

“Bo I am in no way saying what I did was right, but I was so scared! You nearly died when I told you the truth. I was out of my mind when it happened.”
“I know! I understand how it happened. It just..Red please don’t be upset when I say this, I don’t mean it to hurt you. But I fear that for the rest of our lives, every time I am intimate with you.. I’ll see you in bed with him and worry that you’re thinking of him instead of me.”
Nora stared at him, she never imagined he’d say that. She try to respond, but she was too emotional. She finally found her voice, but it cracked as she talk.

“Bo..I am going to tell you, I will never ever think about him when I am with you.” She shook her head. “I have tried to forget that night.” She took a deep breath, did she want to tell him this? She looked up in his eyes, so much pain, fear and love. She needed to tell him. “That night Bo, it wasn’t special. In fact it was awful, it by far the worst experience I’ve had with a man. I wasn’t” She sighed  and looked towards the floor.“I wasn’t umm, aroused.” She heard Bo’s gasp “it hurt and I cried the entire time.”

She heard Bo stand up, she looked up. His jaw was clenched. She could see how angry he was. He didn’t talk, she looked at the counselor. The counselor stepped in.

“Bo, are you okay with Nora just told you?”
Bo shook his head, Nora could tell he was getting angrier. Unable to speak. He put his hand up, then left the room.

Nora looked at the counselor again.

“Should I go after him.”
“Let’s give him a minute, he needs a moment to absorb what you just told him.”
Nora looked at the door. Her heart felt so heavy, she shouldn’t have told him.

“Nora I can see you are upset that you told him.”
“I shouldn’t have.”
“You two need total honesty, it was hard for him to hear, but he needed to know.”
The door opened again. Bo walked back in. He didn’t look at her, he paced back and forth.

“Bo? Do you want tell us something?”
“I don’t know. I am angry, how could he do that to you? First he should have never slept with you when you were so emotionally distraught. Then he.” Bo breathing became labored, Nora could see him trying to fight the tears. “ He hurt you when he was with you. What type of man does that?”
“Bo I insisted.”
“IT DOESN’T MATTER! You weren’t in your right mind he should have said no in the first place and as soon as he realized you weren’t.” Bo kicked one of the ottomans. “Doesn’t he know how precious it is to be with you like that!”

Nora felt her own tears falling. She had been keeping everything bottled up about that night and how awful it truly had been. Seeing Bo reaction to it brought all the emotions out. She started to sob. Bo came over and pulled her in his arms.

“Red you never deserve that. Any man who gets to be with you should not only worship you, but he should make it the most wonderful thing in the world.”
Nora sobbed into his arms. He kissed her hair and rubbed her back. Nora finally stopped sobbing. She sniffed and held on to him.

“Bo, you are never have to worry about me thinking about any man, but you. You are a thoughtful and amazing lover. I love you and only you.”

Bo pulled back and looked in her eyes, wiping her tears away with his thumbs.

“I love you Red. And when we make love again, I will make sure you know how precious you are to me.”
They came together in a desperate kiss. The counselor cleared her throat. Bo and Nora pulled apart, but they couldn’t keep their eyes off each other.

“You two just had a very significant breakthrough. Can I ask one thing from you two?”
Bo kissed her gently, then sat down next to her.

“What is it doc?”
“I have a feeling you two will want to get intimate tonight. I think you should wait a couple of days. This conversation was very emotional and I think you two need to have a few days of processing. After a couple of days and you feel you are ready, by all means make love, but wait till you’ve had time to process.”

Nora looked at Bo, she knew the doctor was right. They need time to process. Both she and Bo agreed to wait a couple of days.

“Great, I’ll see you both in a few weeks. Great session.”
Bo stood, then helped Nora up. They walked out of the office, Nora felt the exhausted, the emotions taking its toll on her body. She leaned on Bo as they waited for the elevator. Bo guided her into the elevator. He kissed her hair.

“You okay?”
“Mmm hmm, just feeling tired.”
Bo put his hands on her stomach that was just starting to show.

“That was an emotional session, it took a lot of me, I can only imagine how much it took from you.”
She put her hands over his. They stood there as the elevator went down. Both gasped.

“Red? Was that what I think it was?”
She looked up and smiled at him.

“The baby kicked!”
“Wow! That felt so strange, but that is amazing.”

The door opened, Nora started out. She giggled as Bo’s hand remained on her stomach.

“Bo I doubt the baby will kick again tonight.”
He look a little sad. She kissed him as they approached the car.

“Don’t worry, it was just the first of many kicks. You’ll feel it again.”

“First of many yet to come Red.”
