Chapter 5

Nora slipped into her office early in the morning. Renee agreed to take care of Matthew as she looked more into David’s inheritance. She read the will over and over again. They only way they could really fight this was to prove David wasn’t Asa’s son, they’d need a DNA test. She put together a petition to just that. She sighed, her mind wasn’t able to concentrate. She kept thinking about her night with Bo and the morning after. She felt her body flush, even after all this time Bo could make her body feel like fire. No man had ever come close to making her feel like he did. No man could break her heart like Bo Buchanan.

There was a knock on her door.

“Come in.”
She stiffened when Bo opened the door. His face was tight and cold.

“Nora, I just came over to see if you figured anything out?”
His coldness raised her temper, she tried to keep it in.

“All we can do is ask for DNA test and see if he is really Asa’s son.”
“There is no other way?”
“No.”
“Nora you had to miss something.”
That made her lose it.

“Excuse me?”
“You. missed. something.”
“Bo this is very important to me, it is our son’s future we talking about, that house was suppose to be his. I was going to give it to him when he graduated college.”
“That doesn’t mean you missed something.”

“You mean like you telling me you loved me just so I would have sex with you?”
Nora could see the fire in his eyes.

“I am not getting into this here at work.”
“Fine. Then you need to leave so I can try to get our son’s house back.”
Bo clenched his jaw then left slamming the door behind him. She threw her paperwork down. Damn that man. She closed her eyes as some was at her door again.

“Come in.”
This time it was Clint. Oh this day kept getting better.

“Saw Bo practically running out of here. You two have lovers tiff.”
“Shut up Clint, Bo and I are not together.”
“Not together? What was that I unfortunately walked in on?”
Nora closed her eyes.

“A drunken mistake.”
“So glad I got to witness that mistake, nothing like seeing your brother slipping it to your girlfriend.”
“Shut up. What do you want?”
“To see if you found a way around David’s claims?”
“I am writing a petition to get a DNA test, not much else that can be done.”
“I want to let my lawyers to look at it.”
Nora handed him all the paperwork.

“Here have fun. I have to work, please leave.”
“With pleasure.”

Clint left. Nora felt her jaw clenched from anger and stress. It was going to be a long day.
