Chapter 22

An hour later Nora was in the hospital waiting for test results. Bo was next to her holding her hand. She was feeling better thanks to the painkillers, but she wasn’t allowed to sleep because she may have concussion. Bo kept her awake talking about anything and everything. Larry came in with the ER doctor. Nora felt fear grip her, it couldn’t be good if he was here.

“Bo, Nora.”
Bo stood and shook both doctors hands.

“We got you results back, Mr. Buchanan can you give us some privacy.”

“Sure.”
Bo leaned over and kissed her.

“I’ll just be outside.”

“Ok.”
Bo walked out. Larry walked over.

“Nora, Dr. Kiser asked me help him since I am your family doctor.”
“What is wrong with me?”
Dr. Kiser walked up to her looking at the chart.

“The good thing is nothing is broken, you will be sore for a few weeks probably, but nothing major.”
Nora looked at him confused.

“Then why did you bring in Larry?”
Dr. Kiser looked over at Larry. Larry took her hand.

“Nora you’re pregnant.”
Nora felt all the air in her body leave.

“What! Is the baby okay?”
Larry patted her hand.

“The baby is fine, we’ll have to watch you more carefully because of the fall. But Nora I wanted to talk you about the pregnancy for another reason.”
She was confused.

“What?”
Larry sighed.

“Nora I know you and Bo have had some issues.”
“Yes, but he’ll be happy about the baby, we’ve been doing really well.”
“Nora, I think you should know, you are 10 weeks pregnant.”
Her mind just stopped. She started to hyperventilate.

“Nora, calm down and breath!”
She took several deep breaths. Larry took her hands, she could see the compassion in his eyes.

“How am suppose to tell Bo?”
“I don’t know Nora.”
“I am carrying another man’s baby, we just started to get on track.”

“He loves you Nora, that is what matters. Do you want me to stay when you tell him?”
She sighed.

“No, I don’t think I’ll tell him till I get home, I need to process this.”
“Okay. I am going to get you appointment with an OB. I have some vitamins. And I am going to get your check out started.”

Nora watched them leave, she felt her body tensing as they did. How would she face Bo?

A minute later Bo walked in looking scared and nervous. He took her hands and kissed them.

“I am getting out. I am going to be sore, but fine.”
Bo body visibly relaxed and he gave her dazzling smile.

“I’ll going to pamper you when we get home. Massage, bubble bath, popcorn and movie.”
He was a wonderful man. She ran her hand down his face, how would she tell him?
“Love you.”
“Love you too.”
The nurse walked in.
“I have your release paper and instructions.”
“I’ll go get the car.”
Bo kissed her and left the room. The nurse handed her all the paperwork, then a bag.

“Those are all the prenatal vitamins, the doctor made an appointment with the OB.”
“Thank you.”
The nurse helped her off the bed and into a wheelchair.

“You ready to go home? I think that husband of yours is going to make your night perfect.”
“Yeah”

Nora felt guilt in her stomach, how would she tell him?
