Chapter 5

“Stop it Bo.”
“But Red I am so hungry.”
“Being all hovery isn’t going make me get the popcorn done faster.”
Bo kissed her neck.

“I’ll wait in the livingroom.”
“Good, let me finish this in peace.”
Nora shook her head as he left.  Five minutes later she headed to the living room with the popcorn. Bo was just starting the movie as she sat down next to him. He put an arm around her and pulled her close as they watched the movie.

“Red this the best popcorn you have ever made.”
“I’ll let Orville know that.”
He smiled and continued to watch the movie. The phone suddenly rang, both groaned. Bo leaned over the couch and picked up the receiver.

“Buchanans”
Nora could hear Hank’s voice on the other side, she felt Bo’s body tense. She gave him a concerned look. He hung up the phone.

“What is it?”
“Some of the officers were just attacked in Angel Square.”

She sat up.

“What!”
“Yeah, I need to head down to the station.”
“Of course, are they in the hospital? Are they okay?”
“Two of them are at the hospital.”
“I’ll head to the hospital, which two officers?”

“Tim and Rob. I got to get to station first, I’ll meet you at the hospital.”
“Ok.”
Nora kissed him gently as they both headed out the door.

Nora walked in ER, there were several officers sitting in waiting room. She saw Blake first, he came up to her.

“Where’s Bo?”
“He went to the station first, Hank is there with him.”
Blake nodded, Nora noticed he had a black eye.

“Were you there too? Your eye is black.”
“Yes, I was lucky, poor Tim and Rob.”

“How they are doing?”
“They will be okay, their family is with them.”
“What happened?”
“We found out the truth tonight. It isn’t good, this was a warning to us.  The boss will have his hand full.”
Nora didn’t like sound of that.

“Should I be scared?”
Blake looked at her, she could tell he was trying to decide if he should tell her. He gently took her arm and guided her to an empty room. Nora felt fear fill her body, it must be bad.

“The problems we have been having in Angel Square is coming from a guy name Charlie Devon.”

“Isn’t he the owner of the new pizza joint on 4th?”
“Yep, it appears he is using the pizza place as way to hide what he really is.”
“And that would be?”
“International drug and arms dealer. He is wanted all over the world. Bo is going to have to bring the FBI into this.”
“Why in the world would Devon choose Llanview?”
“He probably thought he would blend in better in a small town.”

“What is going to happen?”
“Once we get the FBI gets involved, it will hopefully be done quickly. They just need to confirm it is him and they’ll arrest him. Which is great for us, but it isn’t going to be fun for Bo.”
Nora was totally lost.

“Why? They guy is off our streets, I would think this would wonderful for him.”
Blake shook his head.

“Nora I have dealt with cases like this. Bo will have to different countries that want to persecute this guy. It is grueling, he’ll be gone for months.”
Nora felt her heart fall.

“Months?”
Blake nodded.

“How long will it take the FBI?”
“Not long, my guess is that is what Bo and Hank are doing right now. They need to get Devon before he leaves town.”

“When will Bo have to leave?”
“Probably tomorrow.”
The door of the room suddenly opened. Bo came in, she could see it in his face. He was going to confirm what Blake just told her. She felt a deep dread fill the pit of her stomach.
