Chapter 10

Nora sat in her office not thinking about work at all. She could still feel the shock of running into Asa. She wondered now if Bo was in this area, her heart stopped. She wasn’t ready to see him, he ignored all her letters and didn’t even attempt to contact her after he promised and told her he loved her. She had been raising Cody all on her own for 9 years. She wasn’t ready to share him, especially with a man who broke her heart. She looked at the clock, it was time to go. She packed up.

Nora walked into the Palace hotel. She stopped dead in her tracks. There he was sitting on a couch in the lobby that faced the door. He had obviouslyhad been told by Asa what he saw and waited for her to return.

He stood and walked up to her. God he was still so handsome, those eyes, her son had those eyes.  Nora meet him halfway.

“Bo.”
“Nora.”

They stood there for a few minutes not saying a word.
“Bo, I have to get to my room my nanny is waiting.”
She went to walk around him. He grabbed her arm, she felt that spark. She looked at his face.

“We need to talk! Now!”
“Bo I can’t, I have a son waiting.”
“YOU MEAN MY SON!”
Nora jumped.

“You didn’t want him Bo, so don’t pull this.”
“Didn’t want him? I didn’t know he existed.”
Nora shook her head and walked away.

“Don’t walk away Nora.”
“BO! I have to get my son, he is waiting for me. I will worry him if I am too late.”
“Fine! But I am coming with you.”
“NO!”
“YES!”
“Fine Bo, but don’t you dare tell him you are his father!”
Bo followed her close. She could smell him. He always smelled so wonderful.

Nora walked to her door, she could hear Cody laughing. Her heart was in her stomach. She turned to Bo.

“Please Bo, don’t take him away from me. And PLEASE don’t hurt him, please”
Bo looked at her shocked.

“I would never do something like that Nora.”
She gave him a weary look then opened the door.

“MOM!”

Cody ran to her and hugged her tight.
“Ms. Hanen.”
“Hi Janet, thank you so much.”
“No problem he is a great boy.”
“Mr. Buchanan!”
“Hi Janet. How are you?”
“Fine, I miss Jess.”
“I think she misses you too. I am sure Clint and Viki would love to see you again.”
“I was planning to come over and visit this weekend.”
He nodded. Janet left. Nora just then realized Clint and Viki were his family too. Damn.

“HI! I am Cody!”
“Hi Cody, I am Bo.”

“Cody, Bo is an..old friend of mine.”
“Cool! What do you do Bo?”
“I am the police commissioner”
“REALLY! WOW! Do think you can let me drive in car?”
“Cody!”
Bo laughed.

“I loved to show you my car, maybe later.”
“Okay.”
“Cody why don’t clean up a bit, it is nearly time for dinner.”
Cody ran towards his room. Bo eyes never leaving him. Once Cody was in his room. Bo turned to her. Hurt written all over his face.

“How could you do this Nora? I loved you so much and you kept me away from my son.”
Nora felt her anger building.
“HOW COULD I! I wasn’t the one who left and promised to contact me right away! You were! AND YOU NEVER DID!!! I was so devastated Bo, but you left me and I had no choice. Then when I found out I was pregnant I called you, but the number was disconnected. I wrote you with address I found several times.  You never contacted me.”
“YOU NEVER WROTE ME! AND AS FOR  LEAVING YOU! Nora I came to get you after my mother died, I saw you with another man!”
Nora felt like he slapped her, how dare he say such things.
“What? You have been the only man I have ever been with, even after all these years. Bo I have been on a grand total of 3 dates since you left me, all which occurred after Cody was born.”
“NO! I SAW YOU.”
“I don’t know what you saw, but it wasn’t me. I think you need to leave now!”

“Nora, I want my son!”
“You lost any rights when you ignored my letters. God Bo if you didn’t want me fine, but our son?”
“Nora I wanted you, I never knew about our son.”
“BULL! Leave now!”

“Fine, but this is far from over.”
