Chapter 17

Nora was entering the six month of her pregnancy. Bo divorce turned ugly very fast.  Lindsay was pretty much holding Dean for ransom. Bo was pretty much willing to pay her anything, but then she started to ask for outrageous things. Things Bo couldn’t give her, it was actually going to court now. The press was all over it. There wasn’t a day that went by where she didn’t see something about Lindsay and her requests. Of course Lindsay made herself to be the victim, the worlds best mother doing everything for her child. It made Nora sick.

She and Bo hadn’t seen each other except for that one night, but kept in touch through Asa. As promised she sent pictures of herself every week. She was starting to really show, which Bo showed great appreciation with every letter. Dean, he was starting to look more and more like his daddy, it melted her heart. She prayed that this would all end soon they had three months before the baby was born, it was too frightening to think about doing it alone.

She sat at her desk reading contracts. She had given her intern and secretary the day off, she had no client coming in, she just planned on doing paperwork that had been piling up. She went to stand to get a book she need, but it took her a few minutes. This was one those times she hated being pregnant, getting up was to much of a chore. She finally stood up and went to the retrieve the book she needed. She heard her front door opened. She wasn’t expecting anyone.

“Hello?”
She got no response, so she headed towards her lobby. She opened the door, her stomach dropped.

“Hello Nora.”
“Lindsay, what are doing here?”
“Oh, I just wanted to see how you were getting along in you new life. Hmmm, I had heard the grapevine you were pregnant and I had to see for myself. Well well, around 6 months?”
Nora tried to control her breathing.

“Ah Yes, around there.”
“Hmmm, right as Bo and I were getting married. Interesting.”
“Yeah. What can I do for you?”
Lindsay walked around looking at Nora’s stuff.
“I am sure you have heard about Bo and I.”
“Yes, I saw it in the papers.”
“Saw it in the papers, well Nora I think you know more than that. I think you helped Bo execute and plan this divorce.”

“If Bo is divorcing you it because he doesn’t want to be with you.”
Lindsay laughed.

“Of course, that is because he wants you, it is always you. Every man I am with, I can’t compete, because they always want you.”
“Maybe you should stop going after my exes and you wouldn’t have that problem.”
This really pissed Lindsay off.

“Maybe you should stop throwing yourself at your exes after I am with them.”
“I have NEVER thrown myself at a man, if a man is with me it is because he wants to be, you are the one who manipulates and throws yourself at men.”
“I do NOT!”
“Really? Who ran to Bo to tell him about me and Sam? Then threw herself at him when he was hurting? You were a rebound and revenge, Lindsay, he never loved you. He wanted to hurt me with you, you just happened to win the lottery by getting knocked up. Which I am guessing you did on purpose.”
“I LOVE Bo.”
“No, Bo is a toy to you, you want to get me. What the first thing you did after you got engaged? Were you happy, no, you went running to me to tell me I lost.”

Lindsay nostril started to flare.

“Did you sleep with my husband?”
“None of you damn business.”

Lindsay went to Nora and grabbed her arm hard.

“This baby is his, isn’t.”
Nora jerked her hand away from her.
“Get out of my office NOW!”
“You two think I’ll just leave and you can have a happy ending with my son. No way in hell.”
“Lindsay you don’t care about your son, every time I’ve ever seen him he is with his father and you are off shopping or doing anything but taking care of your son.”
Lindsay’s eyes narrowed.

“That kid is my ticket to money and I am not going to let that go.”
Nora scoffed.

“Bo is offering so much money you’ll be set for your gold digger life. Now leave.”

Lindsay slowly walked by her.

“This isn’t over, I’ll find something that proves that Bo not only cheated on me and got you pregnant, then we’ll see what happens.”
“Be Careful with what you do Lindsay, never know what will come out of the wood works and bite you ass.”
Lindsay seemed shocked by that statement. Nora just smile, she got her. Lindsay finally left. Nora walked as fast as could into her office and picked up the phone.

“Buchanan residents.”

“Nigel! Is Asa there?”

“Yes, I’ll get him.”
“Thank you.”
A minute later Asa picked up the phone.

“Nora?”
“Asa, I think I know how to get Lindsay to finally settle.”
“Really what?”
“She came to visit, she is suspicious of me and Bo, I suggested that she should be careful with what she does she never knows what could come out and bite her in the ass. Asa, she was white. We know she has cheated, but I think we need more investigation. There is more to the story. Asa you need to find out who her lovers are.”
“I am on it honey. How is the little one?”
“Good, jumping on my bladder all time, and wanting their daddy here, but good.”
“Well get them there honey, just hold tight.”
“Thanks, bye.”
Nora hung up and sighed, maybe this could be over soon. She didn’t want to get her hopes up.
