Charade Chapter 18

Chapter 18
The next week Nora was downtown do some shopping. It was a gorgeous day and she needed to get out.  She wasn’t really looking for anything, just looking for anything that caught her eye. She found herself in a baby store, she felt a bit of sadness of not having Bo with her to look at the baby items. She found a cute blanket and went to go pay.
“That will $35.90.”
Nora went to grab her wallet when she felt a strong pain shot through her body. She gasped and dropped her stuff.
“Miss are okay?”
Nora shook her head.
“Do you want me to call an ambulance.”
Another pain shot through her. She nodded. The clerk picked up the phone and call an ambulance, some of the other patrons noticed her problem and helped her over to a bench to sit. The pain shot through her again.
“They will be here soon, do you have anyone I should call? A husband?”
Nora was scared.
“Yes, Bo.”
The pain hit again, a woman beside her let her squeeze her hand.
“What is Bo’s number.”
Nora gave her his number, the clerk ran to the phone again. They heard the sirens. The paramedics got there. Just as they were wheeling her out. The clerk ran to her.
“I got his father, he said he get Bo here right away.”
Nora thanked her, the ambulance closed its door and started to drive.
The paramedics began asking her question, she answered the best she could.
When they got the hospital her doctor was already there. The pains had stop shooting through her by then.
“Hey Nora, we are going to do a quick ultrasound ok?”
Nora nodded. The doctor started to the ultrasound. She smiled over at Nora.
“It’s okay Nora, the placenta just tore a little.”
Nora sighed in relief. The door open, surprising her and the doctor. She smiled.
“Bo.”
Bo ran over to her and kissed her.
“Are okay honey is the baby okay?”
“Yes, she and baby are fine, she has a tear in the placenta.”
Bo looked concerned.
“That doesn’t sound good.”
“It just means she needs to be on bedrest til the baby comes.”
Bo relaxed.
“In fact give me a minute I’ll get you some medication and you can head home.”
“Thank you.”
The doctor left.
“How did you get here so fast?”
Bo blushed.
“Uh, pa let me use the helicopter.”
She laughed. He leaned down and kissed her gently.
“I’ve missed you so much.”
She ran her hands down his face.
“I missed you too.”
The doctor came in with a nurse and gave her prescriptions. Nora noticed he nurse giving Bo a double look. She mentally cursed, she hoped the nurse wasn’t putting it together. They left and Nora got up.
“Red, you are suppose to stay in bed.”
“Bo I have to get home, plus you should go, that nurse may have recognized you.”
“Red, no way I am leaving you until I can get a nurse to stay with you.”
“Bo, if Lindsay.”
“No.”
She sighed, there was no use to fighting. He helped her up and into the wheelchair.  He kissed her gently again, the nurse walked in just as he was. The nurse looked them over, Nora was sure she knew. The nurse silently walked behind them and pushed Nora outside to a taxi waiting for them. Bo helped her in before he got in himself. They kissed in the back seat as the cab drove them home.
Once home Bo got her in bed. He made a few calls to get a nurse for her full time.
“They will be here in an hour. Don’t worry, this is paid with Buchanan money, they will keep quiet.”
Nora nodded, then her heart sank. She hadn’t seen him in months and he was already leaving. He walked over the bed and sat next to her.
“We’ll be together soon. I promise.”
Nora felt her tears start. He kissed her cheeks then her mouth.
“Don’t cry honey, please. I love you so much.”
She sniffled.
“I love you too, I just miss you so much.”
He kissed her again, then put his arms around and laid next her. She put her head on his chest and held him tight.  They remained like that until the nurse came over. They both were tearful when he left.
