Charade Chapter 22 and 23

Chapter 22

Nora woke up in a her hospital room. She looked around, Bo was nowhere to be seen. She click the nurse button. A couple minutes later a nurse.

“You want your daughter Ms. Buchanan?”
“Yes please, have you seen her father?”
“Yes, he went to go get your son, he said he’d be back soon.”
“Thank you.”

The nurse left. Nora adjusted herself up. She was still very tired from the labor, but she wanted to hold her little girl. The nurse came in with the baby, she gave Nora the baby. Nora thanked her and left her alone.

She was still asleep. Nora kissed her tiny forehead.

“Oh, look at you.”

Nora smiled smoothing the baby’s fine red hair. The baby squirmed a bit but remain sleeping.

“That is okay, you had a rough night too. I love you little girl.”

Nora sat there and just memorized everything about her baby. She was so tiny and perfect. She heard a quiet knock on the door. A moment later Bo and Dean came in.

“Hey there are our guys.”
Dean got really excited when he saw her.

“Ma! Ma!”
Nora laughed. Bo put him next her on the bed and leaned down to kiss her then the baby. She wrapped her free arm around Dean. He looked at his sister.

“This is your little sister Leah.”

Dean looks up her then back down at his sister.

“bebe.”
She smiled and kissed him.

“Yes baby.”
He touched the baby, Nora helped.

“You have to be gentle.”
She softly ran his hand down the baby’s face. He smiled then giggle. Nora laughed. Dean continued to touch his sister as he settled down on Nora.

“You okay honey?”
Nora looked over at Bo with a huge smile.

“Yes, perfect.”

Soon Dean was passed out. Bo went over to them and took the baby. Nora watched, he was so beautiful. He looked at the baby in awe then looked back at Nora with a huge grin.

“She looks so much like you.” Then he laughed. “I just hope she doesn’t have you stubborn streak.”
“HEY!”

He smiled and cuddled the baby close.

“Just kidding honey. I love you all so much.”
Nora played with Dean’s hair as she watch Bo with the baby.

“I love what we have Bo, it is so wonderful and perfect.”
“Yes it is.”

Nora felt her eyes grow heavy. Bo noticed.

“Go to sleep honey. If she wakes up I’ll wake you.”
She smiled and nodded. She closed her eyes and feel asleep.

Chapter 23

Dean was so fascinated by Leah. He just kept looking at her then looking at Bo and Nora then said.

“bebe.”

It was so cute. Leah so far was a pretty quiet baby, she cried a little when she was hungry, but that was about it.

Nora felt exhausted, she felt her eyes dropping as she feed Leah.

“Red, why don’t take a nap after Leah is done.”

“Bo we have the interview.”
He kissed her head.

“Not for a few hours, you look so tired.”
She looked down, Leah was asleep, Bo put his hands out and took her. Nora yawed.

“You know I think you right. I’ll take a nap, wake me in 30.”
Bo kissed her and left her alone to sleep. She was out as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Nora woke she was confused at first, then she realized Dean had crawled into the bedroom by himself.

“Mama, mama.”

Nora got off the bed and picked him up.

“How did you get in here honey? Where is your daddy?”

Nora check on Leah really quick, she was still out.

“Lets go find your daddy.”

Nora headed downstairs with Dean.

“Bo?”

She got no response, she said his name one more time. She got to the living room and saw him sitting on the couch.

“Bo? Didn’t you hear me call you? Dean was crawling around upstairs by himself, did you remember to lock the gate to his room?”

“He’s been a little too busy to take care of our son Nora.”
Nora’s heart stopped when she heard Lindsay respond. She looked all around, but didn’t see her. A moment later Lindsay stepped out from the hallway with a gun pointed at her. Nora gasped and held Dean tight. Lindsay walked over to them and held out her free hand.

“Give me my son.”
“No. He isn’t yours anymore, you gave him up.”
Lindsay screamed.

“I AM NOT LETTING YOU RAISE HIM BITCH! GIVE HIM TO ME.”
Nora held the baby tighter. She looked over at Bo who looked worried.

“No.”
Lindsay growled. And reached her hands towards Dean.

“Come here Dean come to your mommy.”
Nora wouldn’t loosen her hold. Lindsay sighed in annoyance and pointed her gun towards Bo.

“GIVE HIM TO ME!”
Nora looked over to Bo, she knew Lindsay would shoot him. She hesitantly gave the baby to Lindsay. Dean jerked away from Lindsay trying to stay with Nora. When Lindsay violently grabbed him to her. He started to cry for her loudly, his little hands reaching towards Nora.

“Don’t call her Mama, I am your mom.”
Nora started to cry. Bo finally spoke.

“Lindsay please, let me hold him.”
“No, he is my son.”
Dean whimpered still reaching towards Nora. Nora felt desperate and scared. Her voice cracked as she spoke.

“Please, give him to Bo.”
“Lindsay please give him to me, you are scaring him.”
Lindsay huffed in aggravation, she was having a hard time with Dean squirming and wiggling, desperate to get out of her arms and into Nora’s.

“FINE.”
Bo slowly went over to Lindsay and Dean. Dean finally saw his father and reached for him. Bo quickly took him and backed away. Nora breathed a bit when Dean calmed down, still sniffling and clinging to Bo. Bo ran his hand up and down the baby’s back trying to keep him calm.

Lindsay pointed her gun back at Nora. Bo spoke panicky.

“NO! Lindsay stop this!”
“Why? She took my life now she thinks she can raise my child!”
“Lindsay I offered shared custody, you said no. Do you want to be in his life. Nora and I can arrange something.”
Lindsay sneared.

“I don’t want that brat. I want her dead.”
Nora felt her anger flared.

“What is wrong with you! That little boy of there is so wonderful and you gave birth to him, if you don’t want him let Bo and I love him.”
“You don’t deserve him or BO!”
A cry echoed through the room. Nora closed her eyes. Lindsay started laughing.

“Oh is that the child you two conceived when Bo and I were married?”
Neither Bo or Nora spoke.

“Well maybe I should go see this child that ruined my life.”
Nora ran in front of the stairs as Lindsay started to walk towards them.

“You stay away from her.”
“Oh HER? You had a little girl, just fantastic, she’ll probably grow up to be a bitch just like you.”

Bo walked over next to Nora.

“Leave Lindsay. You lost. I never loved you, you never loved me. You wanted to stick it to Nora. You don’t even love your own child.”
Leah’s cries became louder and more desperate. Dean started to get upset hearing his sister’s cries and began crying too.

Lindsay raised the gun.

“I think we all should head upstairs, sounds like Mini Nora needs her mommy.”
Nora held her breath, Bo moved his hand to her back and guided her upstairs. They reached the room and Nora ran over to the baby and picked her up. Leah quieted slightly, Nora rocked her and soothed her.

“She needs her diaper changed.”

Lindsay waved the gun at her. Nora went to the changing table and changed the baby. She looked over at Bo who she could tell was trying to figure out how he could take her down. With Dean in his arms she knew he really couldn’t do much. The silence in the room was broken by Dean.

“Bebe”
Nora smiled.

“That is right Dean, baby. Do you love the baby?”
“ya”

“Ok enough baby talking, lets all go downstairs.”
Nora went to put Leah back in her crib.

“No No Nora, she is coming down with us.”
Nora felt a lump in her throat.

“No, Lindsay. She is only two weeks old, leave her up here.”
“Shut up Bo. She is going down with us.”

Nora looked over at Bo, he face filling with rage. Nora started to walk. Bo put Dean down letting Dean walk by holding Bo’s hand. Lindsay made a noise of annoyance when Dean’s walk slowed everything down. Nora looked at Bo again, his eyes meet hers. She knew what he wanted. When Nora got to the door she waited for Bo and Dean, when they reached the door. Nora lowered her left arm and Bo pushed Dean towards her and slammed the door. Nora caught Dean and picked him up. She ran downstairs with both kids. She could hear Lindsay scream and fighting. She ran toward the garage, she knew she had to get the kids out and call for help.  She got both kids in their seats in record time. She heard the gun go off, she had to fight her fear for Bo. The kids were more important. She got the car out, she called the police station. She told them the situation, they told her to come to the station, they were sending out a team immediately. She only prayed that when there Bo was safe.
