A Striking Unrealized Truth

Chapter 1

Bo Buchanan smiled as he approached the office of one of his favorite people. He knocked, he entered when he heard her mumble come in. His smile grew as he saw her familiar red head buried in a book as she sort of acknowledge someone had entered the room.

“I’ll be with you in a moment.”
Bo walked over to an empty and chair and sat in front of her.

“It’s okay I love watching you scrunch your face.”
Nora didn’t even look up, she grabbed a pencil and launched it at him.

“Be quiet Buchanan, some of us actually have to do research to get their job right.”
He dodged the pencil and laughed.

“Eh, if you say so, I think lawyers just make it up as they go.”

“No, that is people in the newspaper business.” She looked up and squared her shoulders. “Lawyers always know their facts, they may just try to suppress them.”
Bo barked out a laugh.

“And you maybe one of the best.”
She smiled and put her book down.

“What are you doing here?”
“I happened to be in the area and thought I’d see if you’d want to grab some lunch.”
She frowned.

“Oh Bo, I’d love too, but I have to be in court soon. It will be a grab and go for me.”
“Really? We need to find sometime. We haven’t seen each other lately.”
“I know, once this case is over hopefully we can hang out again. How is everything? Sarah good?”
“Things are good. Sarah is fine. How about you?”
“Once I get this case done, I’ll be great.”
“As soon as this case is over how about you and I are going to Roadies then to a movie!”
Nora gave him a huge smile.

“It’s a date!”

“Good.”
Bo stood and walked over to her, he kissed the top of her head.

“Don’t work to hard Red.”
“Me? I never.”
He laughed and shook his head.

“See you later.”
“Bye.”

Bo closed the door behind him, he smiled as he walked down the hall. Nora never failed to make him feel happy, he was so lucky to have her in his life.
 

Chapter 2

Bo sat at his house watching TV, he was feeling excited. Tomorrow he’d be out with Nora, they had finally found a time that worked for both of them. The front door opened he smiled.

“Hey honey.”
“Bo. I didn’t know you’d be home already.”
“Quiet day.”
Sarah nodded and headed over to the couch and sat next to him. He gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

“How was your day?”
Sarah shrugged.

“Okay. You?”
“Not bad. As I said work was quiet. Oh, I won’t be home tomorrow night.”
“Oh, that is fine. What are doing?”
“Nora and I are hanging out, we both found sometime.”
Bo noticed Sarah jaw clench.

“Oh, Nora. That is nice.”
“Sarah is there something wrong?”
“No.”
Bo felt awkward as they both got silent. He wasn’t sure what was happening between them, but something wasn’t right.  Bo offered Sarah some popcorn, she declined.

“I think I am going to head upstairs and work.”
“Oh okay.”
Sarah got up left. Bo felt himself relax, he wished he could figure out what was going on with his wife. It started right before they got married and had progressively gotten worse. He wasn’t sure if he was doing something wrong. Maybe they had both changed too much since their first marriage. He honestly didn’t know what to do about it.

He sighed, then smiled as he remembered he got to hang with Nora tomorrow. That always lifted his spirits.

Chapter 3

Bo eagerly knocked on the door of Nora’s suite. He smiled as he heard her scream from inside.

“Oh my gosh Buchanan, it’s unlocked. Just come in and stop knocking.”
He opened the door. Nora was behind the couch picking something up.

“RED!”

Nora rolled her eyes.

“What are you so hyper about?”
“I get to see my best friend, why shouldn’t I be excited.”
Nora smiled and stood up. Bo looked her up and down. She maybe his best friend, but that didn’t mean he didn’t notice how attractive she was.

“You look beautiful Red.”
Nora blushed.

“Thank you. You look pretty good too. Now lets go.”

Bo took her hand and lead her out.

As they ate their dinner their conversation never slowed. He sighed. How in the hell could it be so easy with Nora, but so difficult with his wife?

“Bo do you know Justin Reed?”
Bo nodded.

“Sure he works for BE, great guy. Why?”
“He sort of asked me out.”
Bo stopped eating and looked up at her. He felt a shock run through his system as his face fell. Nora looked nervous as he stared at her.

“Oh come on Buchanan, it can’t be that strange someone would want to date me.”

Bo snapped out his daze.

“Red, a man would be utterly stupid not to want to go out with you. You are smart and beautiful, he is a lucky man. So what did you say?”
“Um, tentative yes. I don’t know him well, I really wanted your opinion first.”
Bo put on a fake smile.

“He’s a good guy. I think you’ll like him.”
Nora let out a sigh of relief.

“Good, last thing I need is a jerk asking me to date him. This maybe a one time thing, but still. I haven’t dated in a very long time.”
Bo shook his head.

“I still can’t believe that.”
Nora shrugged.

“You’ve seen my work schedule, doesn’t leave time for much romance. If I have free time I spend it with Rachel.” Then she smiled and grabbed his hand. “Or you.”
Bo smiled and squeezed her hand.

“And I greatly appreciate that.” He looked at his watch. “We better get going or we’ll miss the movie.”
“Can we get ice cream first?”
Bo laughed and shook his head.

“I don’t know how you don’t weigh 400 pounds.”
She smiled and grabbed his hand.

“Is that a yes?”
“Like I can say no to you.”

“Yes!”
Bo guided her out of the restaurant, excited for the rest of the night.

Chapter 4

Bo helped Sarah to the door of the Palace. They stood waiting for a table.
“Well look at that, is that Nora with Justin Reed?”
Bo followed his wife gaze. He felt that shock run through his body again. He shook it off. Sure enough, there was Nora and Justin, laughing and talking.

“Oh, yeah. I think this is their first date.”
Sarah smiled and grabbed his hand.

“How on earth did she manage to get the great white whale?”
“What? Great white whale?”
“Oh come on Bo, you don’t know he is one of Llanview most eligible bachelors? Many women have tried and failed.”
“Oh, umm. I think he asked her out.”
Sarah’s face fell in shock.

“No!”
Bo looked at his wife in confusion.

“Honey, what is so strange about that? Nora isn’t exactly homely.”
Sarah frowned when he said that.

“I know, it’s just.. Justin Reed never asks women out, they ask him.”
“I don’t know what to tell you, he obviously likes her.”
Bo couldn’t stop looking at the couple. He had a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach as he watched them.

“Mr. Buchanan your table is ready.”
Bo and Sarah followed the waiter. Bo felt his stomach drop as they moved towards Nora and Justin. Nora noticed them, her smile grew as they neared.

“Bo! Sarah!”

The waiter stopped at the table next to Justin and Nora.

“Hey Red. Justin.”
Sarah just waved as they sat. Justin smiled and put an arm around Nora.

“Looks like we are going to be neighbors tonight.”

“It sure does. You two enjoying your night?”
Nora smiled and Justin looks at her. Bo could see adoration in Justin’s eyes already.

“Yeah, it has been wonderful.”

Bo felt himself force a smile out.

“Good, Justin you better treat her right.”
Justin continued to look at Nora as she turned her face towards him, telling him to shut up with her eyes. Justin reached out and stroked Nora’s hair, Bo felt a growl starting.

“Don’t worry Bo, I plan on treating her like the queen she is.”
Nora blushed and turned back towards Justin.

“Thank you.”

Bo felt Sarah poke him. He looked at her, she was frowning at him.

“I think we should concentrate on our dinner don’t you?”
Bo smiled.

“Yeah, of course.”
Bo tried to concentrate on his wife and their dinner, but his focus kept turning towards the other couple next to him. He didn’t like at all how Justin kept touching Nora. Bo saw Justin lean in and whisper into Nora’s ear. She blushed and smiled. Then Justin stood and took her hand, he wrapped his arm around her waist and walked over to their table.

“We are heading out. It was good seeing you two.”
Nora smiled.

“See you tomorrow.”
“Yeah Red, see you.”
Bo watched as Justin guided her out of the room. He heard Sarah speak.

“Unbelievable.”
Bo turned towards his wife.
“Oh good it isn’t just me who noticed inappropriate he was with her.”
Sarah looked at him in disbelief.

“Damn it Bo, take me home.”
Bo looked down at his dinner.

“But we aren’t done.”
“I am.”
Bo felt confused. He paid their food, Sarah pulled away from him when he went to hold her hand. Great, what had he done now.

Chapter 5

Bo followed Sarah into the house, she threw her purse on the couch and stomped upstairs. Bo sighed, she hadn’t said a word to him on the drive home. He took his tie off and followed her.

“Ok, what is going on?”
Sarah shook her head.

“You don’t see it do you?”
“What?”
“Nora.”
Bo just stared at her. What in the hell was she talking about?

“Nora what?”
Sarah bitterly laughed.

“You want her.”
Bo laughed.

“Oh come on Sarah. She is my best friend.”
“Yeah, and you want to screw her brains out.”
Bo scoffed.

“You are crazy.”
Sarah stopped moving and looked in straight in his eyes.

“Bo you spent all night staring at her. You actually tensed every time Justin touched her. You are jealous that he about to have sex with your precious Red.”
“I am worried about her, I don’t like that he is a playboy, he is using her.”
“If Justin Reed wanted sex he could find it. He asked Nora out on a date, he isn’t using her. God Bo, ever since you meet this woman it has been like this. You talk about her none stop, you spend more time with her than me. You want her!”
“No, I don’t.”
Sarah just shook her head.

“I am not talking about this anymore. I have tried to ignore this thing that is between you and Nora, no more. Actually why don’t you go find her and Justin and join in their party tonight. I am sure she wouldn’t object.”

Bo jaw clenched.

“That was uncalled for, Nora is my best friend and she deserves a man who respects her.”
Sarah grabbed a pillow and began walking out of the room.

“Bo we all know in your eyes, you are the only man that is good enough to get in her pants.”
Sarah slammed the door behind her when she left. Bo threw his jacket on the chair.

How dare she. Nora deserves the best. That is why I was upset. Justin is going to hurt her.

Bo sighed and sat down, he thought of Nora tonight. God she looked gorgeous. He smiled when he thought of fun night they had previously that week. He loved making her smile, she looked so beautiful.
Bo suddenly stopped breathing.

Oh God, I am in love with Nora.

Chapter 6

The next morning Bo sat at the table waiting for his wife to come down.  When she finally came down she stopped and looked at him. He could feel the anger rolling off her.

“You are right.”
“About that fact you want to screw Nora Gannon, yeah I know. You know what, go ahead and screw her. Maybe then you’ll get her out of your system and we can live our lives.”
“No, I don’t want to screw Nora.”
“The hell you don’t.”
“I don’t want to screw her. I want to make love to her, I want to worship her.” Bo stood up and looked straight into Sarah’s eyes. “Because I love Nora, I love her so much it hurts. I dream about her. I do nothing but think about her when she isn’t around. When she is around I just want to make her happy.”
Sarah’s face turned white.

“Love?”
Bo nodded.

“Love.” Bo swallowed hard. “More than anything.”
Sarah’s head snapped towards him with that statement. She fell onto her seat, Bo could tell she was trying not to cry. He felt horrible.

“So, your feelings for me?”
“I love you, but Sarah I think I am safe in saying this. Neither one of us are in love with each other anymore.”

Sarah looked away from him.

“I’ll move out.”
Bo sighed.

“Sarah.”
Sarah put her hands up.

“Don’t Bo, you are in love with someone else. I am not going make a fool out myself. Don’t coming running back to me after you find out you were just lusting after her. Because Bo I guarantee that once you have her in bed you’ll find you weren’t in love.”
“You’re are wrong Sarah. Besides, Nora may want nothing to do with me, she has Justin after all.”
Sarah laughed harshly.

“Yeah, I don’t think you are going to have a problem getting her in bed Bo. She wants you too, plus I think Nora will sleep with anyone.”
Bo clenched his jaw, he wasn’t going to take the bait.

“Goodbye Sarah. I’ve already packed my stuff, so I’ll be leaving. You can keep the house.”
Sarah’s eyes were filled with anger, he couldn’t blame her.

“Goodbye Bo, just remember. The door will always be closed once you leave.”
Bo nodded and left his house, his wife. He felt a huge weight lifting off him as he got in the car. He smiled he was doing the right thing. Even if Nora didn’t want him, he and Sarah were over. 

Chapter 7

Bo got him a suite at the Palace, he smiled when he saw it was the one right next to Nora. He went right to the room, wanting to get unpacked. He stopped when he heard Nora’s door open. His heart fell when he saw Justin walk out, Nora followed wrapping her arms around him then kissing him.

Bo quickly went into his room and closed the door, not wanting to see their affections or face questions from Nora. He felt sick to his stomach when he heard Nora giggle, then gasp.

Oh God, no.

He dropped his suitcase and walked back out of the suite when he heard her moan. There was no way he could listen to the woman he loved having sex with another man. Bo practically ran to the elevator.
He took deep breaths as the elevator went back down. Then it really hit him. Nora was with someone else. He collapsed on the bench in the elevator. How in the hell did he explain this to her? She would have a million questions on why he left Sarah, she’d see his lies. He ran his hands down his face. He was in trouble. The door opened and he walked over to coffee shop, he would stay down here for a bit and think. Maybe Justin would be leaving soon, he hoped Justin would be leaving soon.

An hour later Bo saw Justin leaving the Palace with a huge smile plastered on his face. He felt jealousy rear it’s ugly head. He paid for his coffee and headed back upstairs. He reached his room and looked over to Nora’s door. He sighed and walked towards her door.

He held his breath as he knocked. He couldn’t help but smile when she opened the door, she looked beautiful.

“Bo!”
Nora pulled him into a hug. He he pulled her to him tight.

“Hey Red.”
She let go of him.

“What you doing here?”
“Umm, can I come in?”
“Of course.”
Nora moved out the way and he came in.

Bo sat down, Nora sat down next him.

“So how was your night?”
“Great! Justin is a great guy.”
“I saw him leaving before I got up here.”
Nora’s face turned red.

“Yeah, he spent the night.”
Bo nodded. Nora ran a hand down his face.

“Hey, what is going on? You look really scared.”
Bo took her hand.

“Red, I left Sarah.”
Nora face fell in utter shock.

“What! When? I just saw you two last night.”
“This morning. We had a big blow up last night, we are over.”
“No, Bo. You two still love each other. You need to fight.”
Bo stood up and began to pace.

“You see last night Sarah made realize something. I am not in love with her, not anymore.”
“Oh Bo, that can’t be.”
Bo walked over to her and took her hands.

“Nora I promise you, I know I am not in love with my wife anymore. She pointed something out to me and she was right. Red, we haven’t been doing well for a long time. I probably have most of the blame, but it’s over.”
Nora wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek.

“I am so sorry Bo.”
Bo closed his eyes and held her tight to him.

“I know. But I am okay with it. I realized Sarah and I shouldn’t have remarried anyways, we were like this before we got remarried.”

Nora sighed and held him tighter.

“By the way I am your new neighbor.”
Nora pulled out of the hug slightly.

“What?”
“I got the suite next to yours.”
She gave him a huge grin.

“Really, well I can’t say I hate that. Hey do you need to help you with the legal end of this split?”
Bo’s heart stopped.

“NO!”  He realized he said that a little too quickly and forcefully when she jumped. “Sorry, I just think you should stay out of this one.”
She kissed his cheek.

“I understand, but let me know if you need any help.”

“I will, now why don’t you let me take you to lunch.”
She smiled.

“Deal!”

They held each other’s hands as they walked out of the room. Bo realized, they always do this, how didn’t he notice before now?

Chapter 8

Bo sat in a small room across from his soon to be ex-wife and her lawyer. He just wanted this over. Sarah smiled at him

“So Nora and Justin are still going hot and heavy, I take it you haven’t nailed her yet.”
Bo clenched his jaw and didn’t say anything back.

“Mrs. Buchanan I suggest you stop making those comments.”
Sarah rolled her eyes, but remain quiet as the lawyers hashed everything out.

An hour later they were signing their divorce papers. Bo felt nothing but relief as he did.

As Bo left he heard Sarah behind him.

“You tell her yet?”
Bo just looked ahead and didn’t speak.

“Have you told that slut how you left me because of her? Or are you and Justin tag teaming her?”

Bo walked faster, suddenly he hit a body.

“Ow.”
Bo shook his head, he realized it was Nora.

“Oh God Red. I am sorry.”
Nora was rubbing her arm. Bo looked over towards Sarah who face looked menacing.

“Watch where you are going Buchanan. What are doing here?”
Nora looked over and saw Sarah.

“oh, umm. I think I’ll go.”
Bo grabbed her arm.

“No, let me help you.”
Sarah walked over to Nora before he could get her out of there.

“So Nora you enjoy it?”
Nora looked at Sarah confused, then at Bo.

“What?”
“Having two men in your bed at the same time?”
Nora eyes grew huge.

“Excuse me?”
Bo tried to get Nora out.

“It must be a thrill to have both Justin and my husband in bed with you.”
Nora stood firm as Bo pulled her arms.

“What in the hell is wrong with you? I am sorry that your marriage is over, but why are taking it out on me?”

Sarah laughed.

“Oh Bo, you haven’t told her?”
“Shut up Sarah.”
“No, you left me because of her.”
Bo gripped Nora’s arms. Nora’s mouth gaped open as she stared at Sarah, obviously trying to figure out if Sarah was telling the truth. She finally turned towards Bo, he stopped breathing as she examined his face. She jerked away from him.

“Did you tell her we are having affair?”
“NO!”
“Don’t lie Bo! I can tell she telling the truth by the look on your face.”

“I..Red.”
Nora’s eyes shone with tears.

“How could you use me like that? Lie to your wife like that? You aren’t the person I thought you were.”
Bo quickly shook his head, he tried to grab her again as she ran.

“RED!”

She was gone before he could reach her again. Bo felt nothing but anger as he looked at his smirking ex-wife.

“Good luck getting her in your bed now.”
Bo didn’t say anything when Sarah left, he was too angry.

Chapter 9

Bo kept knocking on her door.

“Red, please. I need to explain. Red.”
He sighed and put his head on her door.
“Red, if you’re in there please open the door.” He took a deep breath. “Red honey please let me in.”

Nora’s door suddenly opened. Bo heart leapt, but soon fell when he saw her face, red from tears.

“Please leave me alone, I don’t want you in my life anymore.”
Bo threw his body in her threshold stopping the door from closing.

“Nora please let me explain.”
“Explain that you wanted to leave your wife. You told her that you and I were having affair. What is to explain? That you are a coward? That you USED me? I thought we were best friends.”
Bo grabbed her hands.

“We are. Nora, she lied. I never told her that we were having an affair.”
Nora jerked her hands away from him.

“Bo I could tell by your face Sarah’s words bothered you, because they were true.”
“Red I can’t lie. Part of what she said was true.”
Nora sobbed.

“So you did say we were sleeping together?”
Bo put her face in hands.

“NO! No. She said I left because of you, that is very true.”
Nora looked at him confused.

“I don’t understand. How is that true?”
Bo took a deep breath.

“Because, honey I realized that I was no longer in love with Sarah. I haven’t been for a very long time.” He stopped trying to find the right way to tell her. “You see Red, I lo.”
His words were interrupted by the knock. Nora looked at the door then back to him. Obviously wanting him to finish before she opened the door.

“Red, I love you.”
Nora face fell in shock. The the person on the other side of the door knocked again. Nora ignored it.

“What?”
“Red I am deeply in love with you, I have been for a long time. I couldn’t be with Sarah when my heart belongs with you.”

The person knocked louder. Bo keep his eyes glued with Nora’s. Nora remain speechless. Bo closed his eyes when he heard the voice on the other side calling for Nora. It was Justin.

Nora moved his hands off her face, she looked shell shocked as she stumbled towards the door. Bo watched as she wiped the tears off her face and answered the door.

Justin pulled her to him and kissed her.

“Hey beautiful, why did it take you so long to answer the door. Oh, hey Bo.”
Bo waved towards Justin.

“umm, Bo and I were just having a heavy conversation.”
“Yeah, Sarah and I are officially over.”
Justin patted Bo shoulders.

“Sorry, I know that is never easy, even when you know it needed to be done.”
“Yeah.”
Bo kept his eyes on Nora, who would not look at him.

“Nora and I have tickets tonight to the play, but if you two need some more time.”
“NO!”
Nora answered loud and quickly. Bo’s heart hurt, she wanted him gone.

“Oh, okay. Nora we need to be going soon.”
Nora looked down realizing she need to change.

“I’ll change. Bye Bo.”
She quickly ran to her bedroom. Bo felt Justin pat his back.

“You okay?”
“Yeah.”
He looked back at Nora’s bedroom.

“You know, there isn’t a day that goes by I don’t feel beyond lucky that she said yes. She told me I have you to thank for that.”
Bo tried to smile, but failed.

“I know she is your best friend. I want you to know I will always take care of her.”
Bo looked up fast.

“What do you mean?”
Justin smile grew, he reached in his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. Bo stomach fell.

“I am asking her tonight.”
Bo voice caught, he cleared his throat.

“Congratulations.”
Justin nervously laughed.

“She hasn’t said yes yet.”
Bo nodded.

“I should go.”
Bo held back his tears till he reached his room. He was going to lose her before he had her.

He sat on his couch and cried, the idea of watching her being married to another man broke him. He laid on his couch, what should he do now?

Chapter 10

Bo jerked awake to loud knocking. It took him a moment to realize it wasn’t his door. He heard a loud voice. He cracked his door opened to see what was going on. Bo saw Justin at the door.

“OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!” He knocked the door again. “NORA. You can’t do this.”
Bo walked out of the door.

“Justin?” Justin’s face grew hard when he saw Bo. “Justin what is going on?”
“Like you don’t know.” Justin threw a punch at Bo before he knew what happened. Bo fell to the floor. “You slept with my girlfriend.”

Bo quickly stood up.

“I have never slept with Nora.”
“Like hell you haven’t. Your ex-wife told me, she told me just after I proposed.”
Bo jaw clenched.

“Justin she is lying, I NEVER had Nora in that way.”
“Then why did she tell me no when I proposed?”
Bo heart soared.

“She said no?”

“She said she couldn’t and ran out of the restaurant. I thought we were ready, then Sarah told me the truth.”
“I have never had sex with Nora.”
Justin’s hands were clenched in fists as he hit the wall.

“You are telling me you have no feelings for her?”
“I didn’t say that.”
Justin laughed and shook his head.

“So it’s true, you left Sarah because you love Nora.”
“Yes.”
“Does Nora know that?”
Bo nodded.

“I told her today.”
Justin closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

“You son of bitch. I love her too. You think you can just walk in and take her now that you are free?”
“No, nobody can take Nora. She can never belong to anyone.”
Justin laughed

“You are an asshole. I won’t give her up so easy, I will fight for her.”
“Justin I have no idea if she even wants me.”
Justin turned away from and walked over to the elevator.

Bo looked at her door after Justin was gone. He gently knocked.

“Red are you in there?”
He stood there for several minutes. She never answered. He sighed then walked back to his own room. He stayed up all night listening for her, he heard nothing. She never came home that night. 

Chapter 11

It had been a week since he told Nora that he loved her. He couldn’t find her. He and Justin had gotten a horrible screaming fight in the middle of Banner’s office. It took his brother and Viki to stop them. It seemed everywhere he went Sarah was there smirking at his pain.

Bo wearily walked into his suite. He stopped when realized someone was in his suite. He slowly looked up, Nora was standing by his couch looking like an angel.

“Red!”
He ran to her and pulled her into a hug. He held her tight, burying his nose into her hair and smelled her. He felt his heart lift, it felt so good to have her in his arms. Bo pulled back and put her face in his hands.

“I have missed you so much.”
He kissed her gently, she kissed him back.

“I missed you too.”
Bo nuzzled her nose with his.

“Where have you been?”
Nora gently extracted herself from his arms.

“Switzerland.”
“Switzerland? Did you go see your sister?”
She just nodded.

“How is she?”
“Good, she helped me get my head back on straight. You threw me for a loop Bo. Then Justin asking me to marrying him” She shook her head. “I can’t believe he did that, we’ve only dated for one month.”

“I never wanted you find out about my feelings like that Red. I didn’t know how to tell you.”
“I know. I am still in shock that you left Sarah because of me.”
“Red, even if you weren’t around, Sarah and I would be over. We should have never remarried. We have changed too much. My love for you just helped me move on.”

Nora nodded and looked out the window.

“What do you see for us Bo?”
“Red, I see everything. Love, marriage, children. Red I can see us growing old together. I not only love you, but you are my best friend. I want a life with you.”
Nora had tears falling down her face.

“Bo stop.”
Bo stopped talking.

“I am frightened Bo. What if we don’t make it? Like you said, you are my best friend, losing you would kill me.”
“Red, do you love me?”
Nora looked at her hands.

“From almost the moment I meet you.”

A shock ran through his body.

“What?”
Nora looked at him and smiled.

“You turned down his marriage proposal.”

Bo let go of her hands.

“Care deeply? Red you just told me you were in love with me.”
Nora face turned angry.

“That doesn’t mean I should blow my life up, that doesn’t I can just jump into bed with you.”

“So you are going to still date Justin even though you are in love me.”
“I DON’T KNOW! Bo, what if you and I don’t work out! What then? I lose my best friend?”
Bo grabbed her face with his hands.

“NO! I will never ever let you go.”

Bo kissed her hard. He felt Nora’s hands slid in between their bodies caressing his chest. Bo pushed her against the wall and began kissing her neck as his hands began removing her clothing. “Yes, Bo please give me time. This is so much to take in.”

Bo let her go. She quickly opened the door to leave.

“I love you Red.”
Nora stopped for a second, “I love you too.” then she closed the door.

Bo ran his hands down his face, that didn’t go at all how he hoped.

Chapter 12

Bo sat in his office. He had a lot of work, but he wasn’t doing any of it. His mind was filled with thoughts and feeling for Nora. He stared out the window, he had heard through the grapevine that Nora had been out with Justin. His heart hurt just thinking about it.

A knock brought him out of his thoughts.

“Come in.”
The door opened, Bo groaned, as if his day wasn’t bad enough.

“What is it Sarah?”
“Nice to see you too.”
Bo just stared at her.

“I have some legal papers that you need to read and sign.”
“I thought the divorce was final.”
Sarah’s eyes narrowed.

“It is, but these are to separate accounts.”
Bo sighed and put his hand out, Sarah handed him the papers. He began to read them.

“How’s Nora? Heard she’d back in town and still with Justin.”
Bo tried to drown her voice out.

“Can’t get that one in your bed can you Bo? Well she does have the great Justin Reed in her bed. Why would she need you?”
Bo jaw clenched. He quickly signed his name, he needed her gone.

“Here, they are signed.”

He stood hoping he could get her out faster. She wouldn’t leave though

“Now, now Bo.” She put her hands on his chest. “Since you aren’t getting any. I thought you and I could.”
Bo’s stomach turned.

“NO!”
Sarah wrapped her arms around him kissing him. Bo pulled her away from him, he grabbed the door intent on pushing her out. He stopped when he realized there was someone blocking the door.

“Red!”
Nora looked between Bo and Sarah obviously trying to figure out what was going on.

“Sorry, I can talk to you later.”
“No, Sarah was leaving.”
Sarah straightened up a bit.

“Mmm, yes. I’ll leave you and your little whore alone.”
Nora shook her head as Bo pushed Sarah out the door. He quickly grabbed Nora’s hand and pulled her inside.

“God that woman, she is just awful.”
Nora walked up to him and wiped off his face.

“Is that why her lipstick is on your face.”
“Oh, gross, did she get lipstick on me?”
Nora smiled and wiped off the last bit, then she kissed his cheek.

“All gone.”

Bo smiled and took her hand kissing it.

“Thanks Red, I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Go around with you ex’s ugly lipstick on your face.”
He laughed.

“She came in for me to sign legal papers then try to get more.”
“Obviously she failed.”
Bo smiled and caressed her face.

“Only one woman has the power to seduce me.”
Nora face turned red as she looked at the ground.

“Bo, I broke up with Justin.”

Bo's smile grew. Nora turned away and walked towards couch putting her purse and coat on it. She put her hands on her waist, still not turning towards him.

“He is angry, you may want to stay away from him.”
“Eh, he already hit me once.”
Nora’s head jerked around.

“What? When?”
“The night you turned down his proposal down, Sarah found him afterwards and told him we were sleeping together. Which I told him wasn’t true, but then he asked me if I was in love with you. I couldn’t lie, he hit me.”
Nora closed her eyes and sighed.

“I’m sorry.”
“Not your fault, can’t blame the guy. Losing you, I can’t even imagine.”

Nora sat down and looked out the window.

“So. I am free, you are free.”
Bo smiled and sat next to her, he put an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

“We are free, free to be together, to love each other. Forever.”
He heard Nora sniff. He gently put a hand on her face and gently tilted her face towards him. His frowned as he saw the tears.

“Red? Why are you crying?”
“Bo, I am not good enough for you, you deserve better than me.”
Bo was shocked.

“What? Red, how could you even think that. You, God Red, you are perfect. If there is anyone who isn’t worthy, it is me. I LOVE YOU! I will strive everyday to prove to you I deserve YOU!  What in the world makes you think you aren’t worthy of me.”
Nora looked down at her hands.

“Bo I have had a horrible time in relationships and I am to blame for them going south almost every time. I don’t want to do that to you.”
“Red, I don’t have a good track record either.”

“Bo, it is different.”
Bo felt his anger growing.

“Stop it Red. You are a wonderful loving person, who I love more than anything. You are smart, funny, and you are so beautiful.” Nora smiled at that. “Don’t let some past mistakes stop us from making a future. A future that I know will be filled with love and fun.” He kissed her hands. “Maybe a few kids?”
Nora giggled and sighed.

“Kids? Little early for that discussion isn’t it?”
“Not for you and me, can’t you see them honey, our little girl and boy?”
Nora looked at him her face serious.

“Yeah I can, they have your eyes.”

“And your smile.” Bo cupped her face. “What do say Red? You ready to do this with me?”
“Yes I am Bo Buchanan. I love you so much.”

“I love you.”
Bo pulled her to him. Their lips meet, Bo felt a shock run through his body. He smiled as he continue to kiss her.

Chapter 13

Bo sat across from Nora. They were both nervous, it was their official first date. The waitress came over and brought their food. They both sat in silence as they ate, not really sure what to say.

“Oh Red, this ridiculous!”
Nora sighed and put her fork down.

“I know! I just. I am so nervous.”

“I am too, but we have no reason too. When you think about it, we have been dating for over a year now.”
Nora laughed.

“I guess you’re right.”
“We know each other already, we’ve NEVER had a problem with discussion before.”
“But it’s different.”
“Because it’s a date?”
“Because we are starting a relationship that could lead to a life together. Marriage, kids.”
Bo scooted closer to her.

“Red I think we are beyond that. I think you and I know it is leading to that future. For me, there is no could. I am going to marry you, we are going to have a family.”
Nora cupped his face, he could see tears in her eyes.

“God Bo, doesn’t that scare you?”
“No. Does it scare you?”
She took a deep breath, Bo could see she was trying to come up with the right answer.

“Yes and No.”
Bo took her hand and kissed it.

“Tell me why Red.”
“No, because I love you so much and you are my best friend. Yes, because I love you and you are my best friend. I don’t think I could survive losing you.”

Bo kissed her gently.

“Red. I can’t say we won’t hurt each other, but we will never ever lose each other. I couldn’t bare it either if I lost you.” Bo ran his hands through her hair. “I love you beyond reason.”
He pulled her to him, kissing her. Nora put a hand on his chest and moaned. The kiss quickly deepened. Bo reluctantly pulled away from her. Her eyes were filled with passion. He needed to get them out of there. He stood up and put his hand out.

“Let’s get out of here honey.”
Nora smiled and took his hand. He pulled her body him and wrapped his arm around her waist as they began to leave. His face fell when he saw who was coming their way. Justin.

“Well, well. If it isn’t the happy couple. Tell me the truth how long have you two sleeping together?”
Bo felt Nora tense.

“I told you Justin, Bo and I have never slept together. I am sorry if you are hurt, but I love Bo.”
Justin laughed and shook his head.

“I can’t wait till he dumps you, don’t come running back to me. All he wants is you in his bed and as soon as he does he’ll leave.”
“Justin you know nothing about Nora and I if you truly believe I’d do that to her.”
“I know you Buchanan. But I can’t blame you, she is hot and so good in bed. I will miss have her in my bed.”
Bo gripped Nora tighter to him.

“Our past relationships don’t matter, what matters is us and only us. I will be the one who has her for the rest my life.”
“Bo please, let’s go. I don’t want to listen to him anymore.”

“With pleasure Red.”
Bo quickly guided her out of the restaurant before Justin could say anything else. Nora stopped him right before they got to the car.

“Bo I am sorry he said that.”
Bo kissed her.

“Red, I don’t care what he says. All I care about is you. Are you okay?”
She took a deep breath and nodded. Bo moved her hair behind her ear and smiled.

“Red, lets get out here and find a nice place to talk.”
“You want to go back to the Palace?”
“No.”
Nora looked at him confused.

“Then where do you want to go?”
Bo took her hand and guided her to the car.

“It is going to be a surprise.”
“Oh, I love surprises!”
Bo laughed.

“Oh Red, I know, I know.”

Chapter 14-Mature, very long chapter.

Bo finally reached their destination and parked the car.

“Bo where are we? We are way out of town. Is this cabin yours?”
“Yeah, this is my cabin I come here when I fish or need to get out of town.”
Even though it was dark Bo could see Nora’s face scrunch up.

“Fishing?”
“Come on Red. We need a quiet place and this is the place.”

Nora got out of the car and hesitantly followed him.

“Well, it is pretty on the outside, but I swear Bo if you think I going to..”
Bo opened the door to the cabin. Nora remain speechless.

“Wow Bo, it is beautiful.”
Bo put his keys on the counter and closed the door behind them.

“It is a cabin that has all the modern conveniences. Three bathrooms, including a hot tub and..” He walked over to the living room area and opened the cabinet. He heard Nora gasp.

“A media center, look at all those movies!”

Bo couldn’t help but laugh.

“I also have fully stocked pantry with all sorts unhealthy food. Including Goobies.”
Nora smile grew huge.

“I am never leaving Bo.”
Bo grabbed her hand and pull her to him.

“I love you Red. I am so excited I can share this with you. I’ve never brought anyone up here.”

“Not even Sarah?”
Bo laughed.

“No, she didn’t appreciate my junk food fetish like you do.”
“Tisk tisk, she missed out on so much.”
Bo kissed her.

“She sure did, but I am happy she did, because I want this to be our place. The place we go to get away.”
Nora wrapped her arms around his neck.

“You have a few beds in this place.”
Bo pulsed immediately increased.

“There are two bedrooms, the master is upstairs.”
Nora kissed his slowly and sensually. Bo moaned and pulled her closer to his body. Nora pulled back.

“Show me the bedroom Bo.”

Bo took her hands and guided her towards the stairs. He made the mistake of looking at Nora before he began climbing the stairs. He moaned when he saw the arousal in her eyes. Bo woke up. The first thing he did was reach for his love. His eyes opened when he felt nothing. He look around. Where did she go? Then he heard someone in the bathroom, he smiled and waited for her to come out. He kept his eyes on the bathroom door as she opened it. He felt his breathing increase when he realized she didn’t have a stitch of clothing on. She looked at him and smiled.

Nora nuzzled his face.

“I love you so much Bo. I am so excited for the life we are starting together.”
Bo smiled and looked down at her.

“Me too. Red. I want to get married.”
Nora sat up.

“Bo, we just had our first date!”

He grinned and sat up too. He pulled her to him and kissed her passionately.

“Technically yes, but Red remember what I said last night?”
“You mean we have been dating for over a year.”
“Yes, come on Red. You know me better than I know myself. Red, I know you better than anyone. So what do you say? Be my wife?”
Nora took a deep breath.

“Yes.” Bo kissed her in excitement, but Nora gently pushed him away. “BUT.” Bo felt his face fall. “I don’t want to rush this wedding. I want a properly planned wedding, no elopment no rushing and planning in two months. I want to wait a year and do this right.”
Bo’s heart started to beat again he sighed in relief.

“Red I am more than happy to wait so we can properly plan this wedding.”
Nora gave him a serious look.

“What?”
“Bo this mean kids are off the table until we do get married. I don’t want us to end up pregnant and having me walk down the aisle when I am 7 months pregnant.”
Bo smiled at the visual that created in his head.

“You’d be beautiful.”
Nora swatted him.

“Bo! I am mean it.”
“Okay okay, I won’t bring up kids until we are almost married. After all you could walk down the aisle at three months and nobody would be able to tell.”
Nora rolled her eyes, but she kissed him. Bo moaned as Nora pushed him down on the bed and straddled his body.

“Wait Red!”
Nora sat up and looked him confused. Bo grabbed her hips and moved her off him.

“Just one second.”
Bo walked over to their discarded clothes.

“Where is my jacket?”
“I think it is downstairs.”
He groaned in annoyance. He ran downstairs and found his jacket. He quickly made his way back up.

“Bo what are doing?”
Bo dug into the inner pocket and pulled out what he was looking for, her heard Nora gasp.

“Bo! Is that?”
Bo opened the small box with the ring he had been carrying with him since he first told Nora he loved her. He walked over to the bed and pulled the ring out of the box. He lifted her hand and put the ring on her finger. It look perfect on her finger, like it had always meant to be there.

“It beautiful. Oh my God. Bo is this?”
He smiled and kissed her.

“Yeah, it my grandmothers ring, Pa gave it to me when Sarah and I were getting a divorce.”
Nora face looked at him in confusion. He nervously laughed.

“He uh, he wanted me to give to you, seemed he realized you and I were meant to be well before either one of us did.”
Nora smiled brilliantly.

“Asa wants us together? Really?”
Bo shrugged.

“He loves you too Red.”
“He didn’t use to.”
Bo couldn’t help but laugh.

“You grew on him. You seemed to have that effect on Buchanan men.” Bo kissed and pushed her down on the bed. “Now where were we?”

Chapter 16

Nora leaned her back against his chest they finished their latest round of lovemaking.

“I am so glad you have this cabin.”
Bo took her hand and played with the finger that carried the gorgeous ring he had given to her earlier in the weekend. He kissed her hair. This had turned out to be the best weekend of his life. Then he had a brilliant idea.

“Red. What if this became our home?”
Nora wove her fingers with his.

“Home, like move in permanently?”
“Yeah, it is big enough for us and any little ones that may come along. It has a few rooms we can turn into more bedrooms if we had too.”
Nora stayed quiet for a moment still playing with his hands.

“But what about you? Where can you go to get away?”
He brushed her hair back off her face.

“Red I won’t need to get away if you're with me. You are my home, you are the place I run to when I need peace.”

Nora kissed his hand.

“Oh Bo.”

Bo gently took her face with his free hand and moved it so she was looking at him. He saw her tears and kissed them away.

“Hey Red, no crying.”
She sniffed.

“You just make me so happy. I never thought I’d ever be this happy, that I’d get a man like you.”
Bo nuzzled her face with his.

“I am feel the same Red. I feel so lucky that you ever agreed to be with me any way, let alone my wife.”

They kissed, soon their passions taking over yet again. They jerked apart when his alarm went off. Nora put her hand over her heart.

“Oh my. Why is your alarm going off?”
Bo sighed and reached over and turned it off.

“I had a feeling we’d lose track of time, so I set it. It means we need to get back.”
“Oh Bo, no can’t we just stay here.”
“You have court tomorrow, Red we need to go home.”
She sighed. He kissed her temple.

“Hey as soon as we officially move in here we can stay forever.”
She smiled.

“I can’t wait. When can we move in?”
“Umm, pretty much wherever we want to.”
“Tomorrow?”
Bo laughed.

“Red, I think it will take us more time than that to pack.”
“No it won’t, both of us live at the Palace. We have no furniture, so it is just clothes.”
“You are serious.”
Nora turned in his arms.

“Of course I am, I want us to be together in our home as soon as we can.”
Bo pulled her to him.

“Okay, after we get off work, we’ll pack and try to get moved in.”
Bo was reward by Nora’s gorgeous smile and a passionate kiss.

“Red we really need to go.”
She quickly got off the bed and grabbed her clothes and threw his at him. Bo smiled feeling hope and excitement for what was to come.

Chapter 17

Bo couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. He sat in his office trying to finish his work, but nothing was happening. His mind just kept wandering to his beautiful fiance and the weekend they had just enjoyed. He couldn’t wait to get home and pack so they could move into his cabin. He shook his head, he couldn’t believe she had agreed to be his wife.

A knock pulled him out of his thoughts.

“Come in.”

He felt his heart skip as the woman of his dreams walked through the door.

“Hey you.”
Nora walked over to him and kissed him him.

“Hey handsome.”
“What you doing here?”
“I got out of court early, thought I’d see if you could get out too.”
Bo stood and grabbed his jacket. He wrapped his arms around her waist and began to guide her out of his office.

As they neared the front door, Bo heard his name. He turned and saw his brother. He quickly changed direction and guided Nora towards him.

“Hey little brother, where you two off too?”
Bo smiled and looked at Nora who smiled back.

“We’ll big brother. Nora and I are going to the palace to pack, because we are moving into together.”
Clint face dropped in shock.

“What? Where?”
“My cabin.”
“Wow, Nora you must be the women of his dreams. Because he is never let me step foot in there, now you two are moving in together.”

“She also agreed to marry me.”
Bo lifted Nora’s hand to show the ring. Clint laughed and hugged Nora, then Bo.

“Oh that is wonderful. I am so happy to hear that. Any date yet?”
“No, but Nora want a proper planned our wedding, so probably in a year.”

Clint laughed.

“Then you haven’t thought of an announcement yet.”
“No.”
“Let me take care of that.”
“Clint, we don’t.”
“No, I want the world to know you two are getting hitched.”

“But we don’t have a picture.”
“Are two kidding, I have tons of picture of you two together. It will be in the paper tomorrow.”
Bo squeezed Nora.

“Guess we better call Pa tonight before we move. We got to go, thanks Clint.”
“No problem.”

Bo started to guide Nora out again. He heard her giggle.

“What?”
“Family already butting into our wedding.”
He smiled.

“He’s just excited.”
“I know.”

“One thing we don’t have to take care of, plus I want everyone to know as soon as possible you are mine.”

“Pa, I know you are excited, but you need to let Nora and I need to plan this. We haven’t even had time to set a date.”
“What you waiting for, get her down the aisle as soon as you can, then make those pretty babies.”
“PA! Nora wants a planned wedding and we agreed to wait to have kids after the wedding.”
“So you talked about children already.”
“Yes, it was one of the first things we talked about. Don’t worry Pa, you’ll get grandkids.”
“That all I ask for.”
Bo swallowed a sarcastic comment.

“Pa, I need to go. Nora really wants to move into the cabin tonight.”
“Good, tell that filly I am excited that she going to officially be my daughter.”
Bo smiled.

“I will.”
Bo hung up. He looked at the suitcases the bellhop had helped them get ready. Nora walked out of her bedroom.

“You got everything Red?”
“Yeah, you?”
“Yep. Let’s get out of here.”
“Yes, let’s start our lives.”

 

Chapter 18

Bo woke up. He couldn’t help but smile when he saw the surroundings of his cabin. Nora snuggled in his arms. He kissed the top of her head. She started to stir, she buried her face into his chest and moaned.

“No, it isn’t time to get up yet.”
“Afraid so.”

Nora kiss his chest then lift herself up. Bo watched her stretch her graceful body. He groaned. She turned towards him and smiled.

“We don’t have time for that Bo.”

Bo pulled her to him and deeply kissed her.

“I think I can handle that.”
Nora got out of the bed and seductively smiled as she moved her nightie down her shoulders. Bo swallowed as he watched the silk fluttered to the ground.

“I’ll be waiting.”

Bo quickly got off the bed ripping his own clothes off as he made his way to the bathroom

Bo walked into his office. He was immediately surrounded. People congratulating him and

shaking his hand. It took him over an hour before he he actually made it to his office.

He sighed as he sat down. He felt so happy, he didn’t think he’d ever been this happy. He sat back and began his work.

“Some woman don’t show till later.”

“I also wanted to let you know, I won’t share custody if you marry Nora.”

“First of I don’t think you are really pregnant. Second of all you can’t make those types of demands, the court won’t let you. I think you are forgetting one thing, my fiance is an amazing lawyer. She’ll get me full custody if I want it, which since this baby doesn’t exist won’t be necessary.”
“I am having your child Bo. So you better figure out what you truly want. Your whore or your child.” Sarah turned to leave, she stopped right before she exited “By the way I ran into Nora at the courthouse and let her know.”
Bo’s face fell.

“You what? Damn you Sarah.”
Bo wanted to smack her when he saw her smirk.

“I will deal with you and this fake pregnancy later.”
Bo grabbed his keys and ran out the door. He knew he had to get to Nora fast, before she did something drastic.

Chapter 19-Mature

Bo ran into the cabin. He could hear her before he saw her. He went upstairs. His heart broke. She was in tears packing her things.

“Red, don’t.”
She wouldn’t look at him.

“I won’t be the reason you are kept from your child.”
Bo walked over to her and put his hands on hers.

“Please don’t Red. First of all I don’t believe for second she is pregnant and if she is, it isn’t mine. I haven’t been with her for months, she’d be showing by now. Second, there is no way a court would let her keep a child away from me just because she doesn’t like you.”
Nora sniffed.

“But Bo.”
“No but Nora. I love you, I need you. Please stop packing, fight with me against her. If she really is carrying my child, help me. Help me win custody, help me raise that child.”
Nora finally looked up at him.

“I love you too and yes I will help you.”
Bo kissed her.

“I so sorry Red, I am so sorry she ruined what should have been a very happy day for both of us.”
Nora leaned against him.

“Bo we need to find the truth.”
Bo kissed the top of her head.

“I know. I was hoping you could get me a subpoena to get a doctor I trust to check her out. To see if she is really pregnant and if she is, how far. Is she is anything less than 5 almost 6 months there is no way it is mine.”
“I can do that.”

Nora sighed running her hands down his body. Bo slowly lowered her to the ground. He groaned as Nora’s hand quickly undid his belt and zipper.He suddenly was desperate to show her how much he needed her.

Bo got home after a long day. He removed his jacket and headed upstairs to change to more comfortable clothing. He looked at the clock, it would be another hour before Nora be home. He sighed, he hadn’t seen her much in the past few days, both work schedules were too crazy. He missed her.

He started to change when he heard the front door open.

“Red?”
“Yeah.”

Then he pulled back and looked at her confused.

“What are doing home already, I thought you had to stay at the office.”

She smiled and then went to put her case down.
“Well funny you should say that, because I actually am here because of work.”
Bo watched her open her case and pull out a piece of paper that she handed it to him.

“Red?”
He looked at it and smiled.

“It’s your subpoena. You can go to Sarah right now and get those tests. It is for a pregnancy test and if she is pregnant this allows you any all information about the pregnancy including how many weeks the pregnancy is, and it also allows for a DNA test after the baby is born.”
“Wow.”
“I don’t want her to try to worm out of anything because a technicality.”

Bo smiled, then pulled her back for a kiss. Nora pulled back and put her hands on his shoulder.

“Lets go over and get this done Bo.”
“Now? Like right now?”
“Yes, I want to know. Then we can move on. No matter what the results. If there is no baby we plan a wedding. If there is a baby and it is yours, we plan a wedding with the baby involved.”
Bo cupped her face.

“You are the most amazing woman Red, I am so glad I found you.”
She gave him a quick peck.

“Thank you, now lets get this done.”

Bo nodded and grabbed his jacket to put back on.

“Let’s do it.”

Chapter 21

Bo stood in front of his old house and knocked waiting for his ex-wife to answer. He looked over at Nora, he could tell she was losing her patience.

“Sarah open the door I know you are home.”
Nora tapped her heels waiting.

“She’s doing this on purpose, she knows why we are here Bo.”
Bo knocked harder.

“Sarah answer or I call the police.”
That did it. The door ripped opened.

“Call the police? What would they do? Arrest me for making sure you little fantasy doesn’t come true and how dare you bring your whore to my house.”
Bo growled. Nora put her hand on his arm then handed Sarah a copy of the subpoena.

Sarah ripped out of Nora’s hand and read the paper.

“I am not doing this, you can’t make me.”

“Actually that paper is telling you must do this. So it is pretty easy, come with Bo and I to the hospital right now or we get the police involved and the drag to the hospital. It’s up to you.”

Sarah jaw clenched as she glared at Nora. Nora didn’t flinch.

“Sarah I have face murders, rapists, and violent criminals, do think you are going to scare me? Get your stuff and go to hospital NOW!”
Bo smiled, Nora was so hot when she took control. Sarah grunted and grabbed her purse and keys.
“Nora and I will follow you to the hospital, I’d hate for you to lose you way.”

Sarah didn’t respond she just walked to her car. Bo and Nora followed.

Bo turned the car on as Nora got in on her side, he smiled at her.

“Red you so sexy when you take charge.”
“Thank you. Maybe later I can take charge again.”
Bo growled and put the car in gear.

He and Nora sat in the waiting room. Sarah was in the room with Bo’s doctor and a nurse. He wasn’t taking any chances.  He sighed and looked over at Nora, she seemed a million miles away. He gently took her and hand and kissed it. She turned her head towards him and smiled.

“Where you at Red?”
“Oh, just thinking about what we need to do if she is pregnant. What we need to legally so you can see your child, what we should do the house for a nursery. With the master room upstairs we probably need to put a crib up there at first.”
Bo was shocked that she was putting this much thought on a child that may not exist, not to mention not hers.

“Woah Red. We don’t even know if there is a baby or if it is mine.”
She sighed.

“I know, but the more I thought, the more I realized I need to figure this stuff out no matter what.”
Bo was confused.

“What? Why?”
She smiled at him.

“For our children silly.”
Bo felt his heart lift and he laughed.

“OH, yeah your right. For our kids. You're totally right about the crib, don’t want to have to go downstairs every time the baby wakes.”
“Maybe we should convert one of the large closets into a nursery.” She cuddled up to him. “That way when the baby gets older we can still have some adult time.”
Bo kissed the top of her head.

“I like the way you think.”

The exam room door opened. Bo looked up Sarah walked out first, she stopped dead in her tracks when she saw how Bo was holding Nora. The doctor followed her.

“Bo want to come to my office and talk.”
Bo and Nora stood and followed him in the room, Sarah not far behind.

“Well doc?”
The doctor looked at Bo, then at Sarah.

“Bo, she’s pregnant.”

Chapter 22

Bo felt the blood drain out of his face, he could see Sarah smirking in the corner.

“Told you.”
Nora squeezed his hand.

“Wait, how far along?”
“We should know any moment. The nurse just went to see if the rest of the blood results are done.”
Bo looked at Sarah she looked anxious. He felt nauseous.

The nurse finally showed up with the results.

Bo held Nora’s hand tight.

“Well doc?”
“Sarah these test show you are about 21 weeks along.”
Bo mouth opened wide. 

He couldn’t be the father. He fell into his chair relief. He looked over at Nora who was staring daggers at Sarah.

The doctor must of felt the tension.

“Uh, I’ll leave you three.”
He left. Bo could see Nora’s face turn red. Where he felt relief she was feeling nothing but anger.

“HOW DARE YOU!”

“HOW DARE I, YOU STOLE MY HUSBAND!”
Nora took a deep breath.

“I didn’t have anything to do with that. We got together well after you divorce. You are a mean and petty woman. God help the man who really is that child’s father.”
“It is Bo’s, we were still married at that point.”
Bo stood up when she said that.

“What! I haven’t touched you nearly six months! Our marriage was dead before then. You didn’t care and I didn’t care that we hadn’t had sex Sarah, that says something.” He shook his head and look at Nora. “You slept with another man when we were married, I don’t care! You need to figure out what you want and stay away from us. Nora and I will be married within the year, I don’t care if you can’t handle that. And when Nora and I start our family I better never hear that you are sniffing around. Stay away, don’t talk to us, do look at us, don’t even think about talking to me or Nora again.”
With that Bo grabbed Nora’s hand and left the room. Leaving his ex-wife and that life behind him forever.

Chapter 23

Bo followed Nora into their house. He took a deep breath and sighed all the anger and fear he had been feeling melted away. He watched his fiance remove her coat with a small smile on her face, his heart skipped a beat.

“Red have I told you how much I love you?”
Nora turned her head towards him her smile growing.

“Not in the last 10 minutes.”
“Oh neglectful of me.” He walked over and took her hands kissing them. “You know Red I was thinking now that we officially have that woman behind us we need to set a date for our wedding.”
Nora leaned in a kissed him.

“I think you’re right. How about in June? It gives us 7 months.”
“I thought you wanted a year to plan.”
Nora shrugged.

“We can do it 7 months, I just don’t want a rushed 3 months. But I think we could put it together in 7. So what do you think?”
“June 1st, I want to be married to you as soon as possible.”

She smiled at him.

“I was thinking April would be a good month to start trying to having a baby.”
Bo felt all the air escape his lungs.

“Really? You want to try before the wedding?”
“I had it pointed out to me, I could be three months along and not be showing.”

“I am going to have to thank who ever pointed that out.”
Nora giggled.

“So, you want to start trying to have a baby in 5 months?”
Bo cupped her face.

“Red I would love to start for a baby with you in 5 months. The idea of you carrying my child makes me,” He began to choke up.”Happier than I ever thought possible. And the idea of you walking down the aisle with our baby, Red my heart would be overflowing with pride and happiness.”

Bo saw the tears in her eyes, then he realized he was also crying.

“Bo. I love you so much.”

Bo nuzzled her nose with his.

“Why don’t we head upstairs and practice our baby making skills.”
Nora laughed.

“We pretty good at that already, but I guess we can practice our technique till it’s perfect.”

“I have a feeling we’ll never get our technique perfect, so we’ll just have to keep practicing for years to come.”
“God I hope your right.”

 

Chapter 24-Epilogue

Bo smiled as he twirled his bride on the dance floor before he pulled her into his arms. My Girl played as they danced their first dance as husband and wife. She look angelic in lacy white dress. He kissed her shoulder as they held each other tight dancing to the rhythm of the song.

“You look so beautiful Mrs. Buchanan.”
Nora nuzzled his nose.

“And you look handsome Mr. Buchanan.”
They kissed and continued to sway, his hands moving to her lower back pulling her closer. He was enjoying the feel of her skin under his hands, his smile grew.

“I was just thinking I would love to thank who ever invented the backless dress.”
Nora laughed putting her head on his shoulder.

“You are impossible sometimes.”

“Yes I did and I am so happy that I did. It’s been a pretty amazing day.”

“Perfect day. Beautiful ceremony with the most gorgeous bride.”His hands moved a bit so his thumbs could caress her stomach. “Who glowed the entire day, thanks to this little one.”
He could feel her smile.

“The glow came from the little one and the happiness of becoming your wife.”

“Just think Red, in less than 8 months we’ll be parents.”
Nora’s breath caught.

“I know, I am so excited and so nervous.”
Bo buried his face into the nape of neck.

“You’ll be an amazing mother Red.”
“and you’ll be an amazing dad.”

Bo kissed her neck. He stopped dancing when he heard the clapping, he realized the song was done. He reluctantly let go of her as they moved off the dance floor.

The rest of the night was spent talking to family and friends. Bo played defense as they both worked on making sure no one noticed Nora wasn’t drinking. They had decided to keep the baby their wonderful secret for now. He couldn’t keep his eyes off her no matter where he was in the room. He couldn’t remember ever seeing something so beautiful. She often meet his gaze, blushing then smiling at him.

As soon as he had the chance he grabbed Nora and got out of there, he wanted her all to himself.

He opened the door to the honeymoon suite, Nora started to walk in, but he stopped her.

“Bo?”
He smiled and swept her off her off her feet. She started to laugh.

“Bo Buchanan! You are going to hurt yourself and I’ll be so mad if you can’t make love to me.”
Bo moved them into the room and closed the door with his feet. He kissed her as he made his way to the bed. Gently he lowered her onto the bed.

“Ta da!”
Nora giggled she reached out and pulled him to her with his tie.

Bo moved over her body on the bed as laid down as he captured her lips. They laid their kissing for a very long time. Bo finally came up for some air. Nora began undressing him. Bo stopped her.

“Red your dress, I don’t want to ruin it.”
She smiled and pushed him off her.

“Then why don’t I go to the bathroom and change into some more comfortable.”
Bo swallowed hard and nodded his eyes watching her as she walked into the bathroom with her small bag. After she closed the door Bo worked on removing his suit.

He was in his boxers when he heard the door open. He looked up with anticipation. He stopped breathing when he saw her. Her skin glowing against the white silk and lace of her gown. The gown made her already long legs go on forever.

“Wow Red.”
She seductively smiled and confidently walked towards him. He felt his body reacting at the sight.

“You like my new gown?”
All Bo could do was nod. Nora smiled and crawled up the bed towards him. Bo sucked in his breath as she took one hand and ran it down his body. She smiled when she reached his boxers.

“I guess you like it.”

Bo grabbed her pulling her on top of him. They both moaned as their bodies pressed together as they kissed. His hands slipped under her thin straps of the gown caressing her shoulders and back. He pulled away slightly. Their eyes meet, his heart stopped, he could see nothing but adoration and love in his wife’s eyes

“I love you Red.”
She kissed him.

“I love you Bo, now, I need my husband to make love to me.”

Bo slowly began to lower the straps of her gown.

“And I need to make love to my beautiful wife for the first time.” He stopped his hands movement. “Red I really am beyond happy that you are mine and that we are officially starting our lives and family tonight.”

“Oh Bo. I can’t even describe how happy I am right now.”
Bo ran hand down her face.

“You don’t have to, I can see it in your face.”

Bo rolled his wife onto the bed, his hand gently rest on her still flat belly for a moment before making love to her for the first time as her husband.
