Undermined Endearment Chapter 29

Chapter 29
“Red, you need to calm down.”
Nora nervously put the table settings in their place. She took a deep breath.
“I know Bo, but I am so scared, I can’t help it.”
Bo put his hand out and took the silverware out her hand, putting them to the side. His hands reached out cupping her face, gently bringing her lips to his.
“Red, no matter what happens today, it will not change the fact that I love you and that we will raise this baby. Today we will just find out if we will be sharing the responsibility with someone else.”
“Bo, what if he fights? What if he doesn’t want to share?”
“Like I said before, we fight. But hopefully it won’t come to that. Blake isn’t a bad guy, he just happened to fall for the most wonderful woman in the world. I can’t say I fault him for that.”
“Bo, don’t. He still has strong feelings for me.”
He kissed her again.
“I know, I just meant he will probably do the right thing and just want joint custody.”
The doorbell rang, they both tensed. Bo let go of her and headed for the door. Nora fidgeted a bit and finished setting the table as Blake walked into the house. Nora could see he was just as nervous.
“Nora. Ah Chinese, looks good.”
“Why don’t you sit, we can start to eat.”
They all three sat down and started eat, nobody talked for a long time. Nora couldn’t look at Blake. She felt Bo’s hand on her back. She looked over, he nodded. It was time.
“So Blake, you probably want to know why we asked you over.”
“I am wondering.”
“Well you see, there is a situation that involves all three of us that we need to discuss. It is serious and we need to let you.” She took a deep breath, not even sure how to say it. “You see Blake, you..you and I.” She stopped talking trying to collect her thoughts. Bo leaned over and kissed her cheek and whispered to her.
“I’ll tell him.”
Bo looked over at Blake.
“Blake, Nora is pregnant and the baby is yours.”
Blake’s face dropped, shock written all over his face. Bo continued.
“I want you to know Nora and I want to do what is best for all of us and the baby. I know it has to be a shock to you, but we want you to know, if you want to be part of this baby life we’ll work with you.”
Nora kept looking at Blake. He didn’t say anything. Nora felt Bo pull her closer to him, she reached over and taking his hand, holding it tight. Blake stood up and headed to the bathroom. Nora looked over at Bo, fear filling her. Bo kissed her gently.
“Red, he is in shock. It is going to be okay, he probably just needs to think alone.”
“I hope so.”
Nora stood and started to clean up, Bo helped her. They were in the kitchen putting the containers in the trash when Blake came back.
“I am sorry, I needed to think.”
“We understand.”
“I don’t know what I want. I don’t know what to think. This is going to be hard for all of us.” He looked over at Nora, sadness written all over his face. “Nora, I love you. And I know you love Bo, but the idea of having to deal with you for 18 years hurts. Right now we barely see each other and I hurt. Knowing I’ll see you often in family situations sounds unbearable. But I don’t want to walk away. I just don’t know.”
Nora felt her own heart fill with pain.
“Blake, nobody expects you to know what you want right now. We have 5 months till this baby is born. You can take time and think about this.”
Blake ran his hands all over his face.
“What do you want Nora?”
She was taken back by that.
“I want a healthy baby who will be surrounded by those who love them.”
Blake looked straight in her eyes.
“No, Nora. What do you want?”
She bit her lip as she felt tears attempting to fall. She shook her head.
“Please don’t ask.”
“Please, tell me.”
Nora looked over at Bo, whose own face looked very concerned. She looked down.
“I want Bo and I to raise this baby, just the two of us.”
Blake nodded and started to pace.
“Blake please know, I would never ever prevent you from being in this child’s life. But in my heart this baby is Bo’s and I want him and I to raise it. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be a part of your own child’s life if you want to.”
“How can I? You want this baby for yourselves, this baby will feel that and I’ll be left out.”
Bo finally spoke up.
“Now, just a minute. You asked Nora what she wanted, she gave you a truthful answer. If you want to be a father to the baby that is fine, but don’t use and stupid excuse like that to wiggle out of this child’s life. If you don’t want to be part the baby’s life Nora and I will be happy to raise her, but you need to decide what works for you. I suggest you go home and think about this. Like Nora said, we have 5 months.  Whatever you decide we will respect your decision, but don’t lay any guilt on my wife, this is your call.”
Blake just stood there with his hands on his hips.
“Fine. I’ll go home.”
“Why don’t we talk again in a few weeks? It will give us all time to sort our feelings out.”
Blake just nodded then left without saying anything.
Bo pulled her to him.
“It’s okay Red, it just us now, you can let it go.”
She started to cry in his arms. He kissed her hair, rubbing her back. He held her until her crying finally subsided. He tilted her chin up,  looking in her eyes.
“It’s going to be okay Red, no matter what Blake decides.”
She sniffed.
“I know, it just felt so horrible to tell him that. But I couldn’t lie Bo, I love you and I want to raise the baby with you, only you.”
He kissed her nose.
“I know, but it was good to get it out.”
She took a deep breath and nodded.
“It was, it just hurt.”
He kissed her slowly and deep, taking her breath away. He smiled as he pulled away.
“I know a great way to take all that pain away.”
She wrapped her arms around him.
“Oh really? And how do you think you can do that?”
Bo kissed the spot right below her ear, she moaned.
“Easy, with hot, sweaty, mind blowing sex.”
She felt her pulse quicken, Bo didn’t give her anytime to reply as he covered her mouth with hot passionate kisses. All thoughts fled out of her mind as the passion and love she felt for her husband overtook her.
