Lightining Chapter 19

Chapter 19
Bo laughed at Nora as she tried to open the cookies while he drove them to the Palace for a party.
“Red they are going to feed us, we don’t need them.”
She glared.
“It’s the principle Bo! I will not let this package beat me.”
He smiled trying not to laugh again. He heard a her exclaim triumph as the package finally opened.
“TAKE THAT COOKIES!”
Nora smugly smiled as she began to eat her cookies. Bo just shook his head as he turned into the driveway of the Palace. The valet ran over as Bo handed over his keys, he then helped Nora out of the car.
“Red have I told you how much I love the dress.”
She smiled running her hand down his face.
“A few times.”
He kissed her as they walked in the already crowded room.
“Looks like we're a little late.”
“Hmmm, wonder why? Mister I can’t keep my hands to myself.”
“You weren’t complaining.”
Nora nibbled his ear.
“I never would.”
“Do you two ever stop?”
Bo stiffened when he heard the voice.
“Gordy, see you got out on bail.” Bo smiled looking down towards Gordy’s ankle. “How’s the monitor?”
Gordy growled.
“You two think you won, I’ll get out of this, just wait.” Gordy winked at Nora. “Loved your photowork.”
Bo saw Nora’s face fall and grow white. Bo couldn’t stop himself his fist connected with Gordy’s face before he realized what he was doing. Mike fell to the ground. He felt Nora grab his arm.
“Bo, no!”
Bo looked around. He realized his mistake when the entire room looked at them. Gordy smiled up at him.
“I am going to file assault charges.”
Bo rubbed his hand. He looked at Nora who looked scared and concerned.
“Go ahead, it was worth it. Stay away from her.”
Mike got up and smirked.
“Mmm, no problem, have those pictures memorized.”
Nora held him back.
“Don’t Bo. Please, lets just go.”
“He should go, he is the criminal.”
“What in Sam hell is going on here!”
Bo looked over seeing his father approaching.
“Mr. Gordy was just leaving.”
“The hell I was, your son just popped me because I complimented his girl.”
“Complicated, you harassed her and brought up a horrible time in her life.”
Asa moved in between him and Mike.
“Mike you need to leave.”
“Asa I paid for the tickets. I get to stay.”
Asa dug into his wallet and pulled out cash.
“Here, double your money back. Now get the hell out of here and don’t come near my son or Nora again or you’ll regret it.”
Gordy jerked the money out Asa’s hand giving Bo a nasty glare. Bo felt Nora squeeze his hand. He kissed her temple as Gordy left the building.
“Thank you Pa.”
“I don’t know what he said to you honey, but to get that type of reaction of my son it had to be bad. Are you okay?”
“Yes, thank you Asa.”
“No problem, now if you’ll excuse me need to talk to the mayor.”
Asa walked away, Bo looked at Nora who looked concerned.
“Red, are really okay?”
“Yeah, but Bo you just hit a man in public, I am more worried about you.”
“It’ll be okay Red, I can take it.”
Bo gently kissed her forehead. Then looked out at the dance floor.
“Now, let’s forget all about Mike Gordy and hit the dance floor.”
He got the smile he was hoping for, he took her hand and lead her. He felt them both relax as they wrapped their arms around each other and began to dance.
“Love you Red.”
Nora moved her head in the crook of his neck.
“Love you too.”
Bo smiled and held her closer to him, thankful she was in his arms.
