Chapter 17

Bo walked into his bed room. He smiled as he saw Nora putting her jewelry on. He was loving her living here, he felt so fulfilled. He walked over and kissed the top of her head.

“You look beautiful.”
She smiled.

“You look handsome too. You ready Bo? They’ll be here any moment.”
“Yeah, just need you to fix my tie.”
She stood up and adjusted his tie for him. Their lips meet as he pulled her to him. She nudged him with her nose.

“You nervous?”
“A little, meeting the parents, then having the parents meet each other all in one night. It is a little overwhelming. Your parent’s plane make it on time?”
“Yes, they got checked into the hotel. It will be okay Bo.”
“I hope so, try not to fight with Pa.”
“I won’t!”
Bo wasn’t so convinced. The doorbell rang.
“Show time.”
Bo took her hand and lead her downstairs. He opened the door, Bo saw the disapproving look of his father and the beaming smile of Renee.

“Pa, Renee. Come in.”
His father walked in first, Bo watched him walk right up to Nora.

“Pa this is Nora Hanen. Nora this is my father Asa Buchanan.”
Nora put her hand out Asa, he took it.

“Well at least she has a decent handshake. You are one of the fancy lady lawyers.”
Bo could see Nora’s face turning red already. But she smiled at Asa.

“Yes sir, I am a lawyer, a damn good one too.”
Asa was about to make a remark, but Renee pushed Asa over a bit, and hugged Nora.

“Oh Nora honey. I am so happy for you and Bo, I knew you’d be perfect for each other.”
He smiled as Nora’s face broke out in a brilliant smile.

“Thank you. I think we are too.”
Bo pulled her to him and kissed her.

“Hmm, you barely know each other.”
“Pa, stop it. I love her”
“Pff, how would you know?”
The bell rang again. Bo glared at his father as he put his hand around Nora’s waist guiding her back the door. Renee already pushing Asa into the living room and telling him to stop it.

Bo took a deep breath and answered the door. He felt the burn as soon as he opened the door. Nora’s father’s eyes were filled with disapproval. Nora stepped forward first.

“Mama, Daddy.”
She hugged both of them. Then she turned towards Bo, her eyes filled with adoration and love.

“This is Bo. Bo this is my father Len and mother Selma.”
“Oh honey he is so handsome!”
Selma hugged him tight.

“You make my little girl so happy.”
He smiled.

“She makes me very happy too.”
Len came up and shook Bo’s hand.

“Nice to meet you Mr. Hanen.”
“Yes. So you are living with my little girl.”
“Yes, she is a wonderful woman and I love her more than anything.”
“Yes, how long have you know her?”
“HA! See I ain’t the only one Bo.”
Bo ignored his father.

“A little over a month, but it didn’t take me long to know how incredible she is.”
“How old are you?”
“DADDY!”
“LEN!”
Len didn’t look away from him.

“Umm. I am 9 years older than Nora.”
He could tell Len didn’t like that answer.

“It doesn’t matter our age difference daddy. We are both adults and we love each other.”

Nora took Bo’s arm and moved into the living room.

“Len, Selma I’d like you to meet my father Asa and my step mother Renee.”
They parents met and shook hands. He looked at Nora who looked nervous. He closed his eyes as he heard his father talk to Len.

“Your daughter seduced my son, not the other way around.”
It was going to be a long night.
