Chapter 21

She exhaled loudly, she just got out of court. Fitzy was all over her, but in the end she prevailed and got bail for her client. She heard her ex-husband laughing behind her.

“You lost mister.”
“Yes, but it was worth it. Fitz got you good.”
She gave him a nasty look, he just smiled.

“I have to go and meet Bo for lunch.”
Hank put his hand out and stopped her.

“How are things for you two really?”
She smiled at him, she knew their separation had been hard on him, he loves them both.

“Good, really. We have been working through the pain.”
“Things with Blake any better?”

She shook her head.

“It’s awkward. He isn’t all over me to get back together, but it feels weird to be around him. Guess that is normal.”
“I have noticed he and Bo are fighting often.”
“I heard. I just hope it will get better.”

“Me too. I got get back to the courtroom.”
Hank kissed her and left. Nora smiled and headed towards the station.

A few minutes later she was walking up the stairs to the station when she bumped into someone one. They steadied her and apologized. She as she was apologizing she realized it was Blake she ran into. She felt that awkwardness right away.

“Nora.”
“Blake, I am late to see Bo.”
“Oh, of course.”

Nora went to go around him, when he put a hand her arm stopping her.

“Wait Nora, I hate how weird this is.”
“I do too, but Blake I think it is just going to take time.”
He was about to talk when a man came running out of the station and ran directly into Blake. Nora tried move, but she wasn’t fast enough. Blake tried to catch her as she fell down the stairs. Nora felt her head hit the sidewalk.

“Nora! Nora!”
She saw Blake standing over her. She felt nothing, but pain. She saw another officer running over.

“Mrs. Buchanan? We called an ambulance, the commissioner was also called.”
A moment later she heard Bo’s voice.

“Red, oh God. Red are you okay?”
Bo gently moved her hair out her face. She reached for his hand, he took it.

“Don’t move Red.” He looked over to Blake. “What happened?”
“Some guy ran into me, causing me run into her, she fell. I couldn’t get to her fast enough. I came over to her right away, she is really hurt boss.”
Bo looked back down to Nora. He bent down and kissed her.

“Hurts.”
Bo nodded.

“Okay Red, we’ll get you to the hospital.”
The sound of sirens filled the air. Both Bo and Blake showed relief. Paramedics surrounded them. Bo stood behind them as the work on her. He answered the questions they were asking her, she was thankful, because it hurt to even talk.

“Ok, lets get her out of here.”
