Lightning Chapter 4

Chapter 4
Bo leaned on the wall in the elevator daydreaming about Nora. It had been a perfect night. After the party Bo took Nora home, he found the courage to ask her out again. They were going out tonight. He knew he had a stupid grin on his face. He hadn’t been this happy in a very long time, he felt a slight twinge, he hadn’t been this happy since he met his late wife years ago. He was brought out of his daydreams by the jerking of the elevator stopping. He walked out on to the floor. His officers were smiling at him.
“Good job boss!”
“Way to go commish.”
“You are a lucky man.”
Bo started to laugh. Never took long for people in this town to find out. He got his office and started to open the door.
“Hey boss is it true you went to the party with the new lawyer.”
“Yes Tim I did.”
“Good for you boss.”
“Thanks.”
Bo shook his head and went to his office. He sighed, there was no way he was going to get anything done. But he’d try.

It was almost lunch time. Bo stood and stretched. He actually got a lot of work done. There was a knock on his door.
“Come in.”
He smiled as Nora appeared.
“Hi.”
She grinned and walked over to him.
“Hi.”
He leaned close.
“So what you doing here?”
“Working on the Parcel case.”
“mmm, when you going to ask me about my involvement?”
“When I get done with the evidence.”
“Makes sense. So what you doing for lunch?”
She frowned slightly.
“I have to meet a client.”
“Oh.”
“But I wanted to come in and say hi before I did. I am looking forward to tonight.”
“Me too.”
She put his tie between her fingers.
“I was wondering what type of clothes I should wear?”
“Oh. Umm casual is fine. I’ll be wearing jeans probably.”
“Sounds good.”
“I’ll see you at 7.”
“Yeah.”
She leaned in and kissed his cheek. His pulse skyrocketed. He turned his head and kissed her cheek. She smiled and let go of his tie and started to leave.
“See you Commish.”
He grinned and watched her leave. As soon as she was out of view he let out a breath he had no idea he was holding.
“Oh you have it bad Buchanan.”
He picked up his keys and headed to lunch.
