Chapter 2

Bo took her to the far reaches of the basement.

“Wow it’s down here isn’t it?”
Bo chuckled.

“Yeah. But when we find the case files you can bring them up to look at, then we’ll keep up there until you’re done.”
She saw her sigh in relief.

“GOOD! I didn’t want to have to walk down here everyday.”
Bo smiled at her.

“We’d never do that to anyone, especially the new lawyer in town. We try to give a good first impression.”
“Well so far I am very impressed with you and your department. Your officers are very friendly and funny.”
He looked at her and smiled.

“Well they usually aren’t that friendly to new lawyers.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, now they are the friendly when a beautiful woman walks into the station.”
Bo saw her blush.

“Here’s your case.”
Bo pulled it down. He could see how excited she was when he handed her the box.

“Oh thank so much Commissioner.”
“You can call me Bo.”
“Thank you Bo.”
“Now, let me get my casefile and we can head back up. You can have one of the interview rooms to look at the case.”
“oh that will be great.”

Bo headed out of the room and into another and looked for his casefile.

“So, Nora, how long have been in town?”
“About a month. I am from Chicago.”
He found his box and picked it up.

“Mind if I ask you why you moved to Llanview?”
“No. My father is a very influential judge in Chicago. It was hard to get out of his shadow and make my own name. So I started to look around the country and Hill gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse. So here I am.”
“You enjoying the town?”
“So far, but I haven’t had much time to get to know the town.”
Bo opened the door for her.

“You know there is a party at the Palace tonight. My step-mother runs the place.”
“Wait, Renee is you step mother?”

Bo laughed.

“Of course you’ve meet Renee already, everybody meets her first.”
Nora laughed.

“I stayed at the Palace for a week before I found a place, she took great care of me.”
“Sounds like her, so anyways. The party is for charity, it goes to the fallen heroes fund. It’s a wonderful place to meet the local people. A lot of business owners and city workers go. You should come.”
Nora put her box down when they reached the interrogation room.

“Are you going to be there?”
“Yeah, I have to be, the mayor orders me to. But I actually like going, I just don’t let him know. He likes to think he is torturing me.”
Nora laughed hard.
“Oh sounds like a great relationship. So do I have to dress up?”
“It is black tie, it might be hard for you to find something.”
“No, I have some dresses. I’ll try to get there.”
“I hope I see you. Well, umm. I’ll leave you too it. Once you are done just let one of my officers know. They’ll put the box away for you.”
“Thank you Bo.”
“Nice meeting you Nora. Hope I see you tonight.”

Bo left and headed towards his office. He had a smile plastered on his face. He really hoped she came to the party.
